That's it...

...I've been a 3D animator for more than 10 years, and looking at all renders I've made I can say: I did not improve much. Still less-than-average animator.

Maybe I could be better in different software, who knows? But I'm too old dog to learn new tricks

Plus a lot of small bad things happened in past month, and I'm completely exausted and mentally crushed.

I quit. I will leave my gallery untouched so people can watch/download stuff

April fools :)

Just take some time for yourself and regroup. It never hurts to step back and just do something that makes you happy.

Your work might not be improving a ton, but it looks too good for your view to be just, it's not bad, and you got fans.
A lack of progress can crush lots of artists, and when one is old it is easy to lose hope in oneself after a series of really bad life events.
This announcement on April Fool's, a day when people are having their hopes and feelings crushed and hurt by tons of awful pranks, does not surprise me, but consider that with your fanbase, and your talent, it isn't hopeless, and that it also isn't necessary to make improvements every year when one always does a good job.

If the struggle on improving is real, maybe try looking at other models you can get for cheap/free and study them. Examining the rigs and other aspects of their controls might give you some ideas.

What modeling software do you use? I've used Daz Studio for years, and only recently got into Blender. I haven't had much success with animating. It can be very challenging, so it's awesome that you can do it at all. :)

For making models and morphs (blendshapes) I use blender. But animating and rendering in DAZ Studio
