That used to be a huge problem but I've actually been having fewer and fewer problems. To the point I've had not a single scam or spambot for over a year. You need to REALLY avoid PUBLIC groups. That's really the problem. Just stick to your own groups or invite link groups(which I assumed Elxinu would use) and it's fine.

E621 is an option I can suggest, it's a well managed site, and popular too! You can make an account on there easily. It's considered like an art archive, it's open to all kinds of various forms of furry related art.
I've seen your work on there a few times, actually, that's how I found you! You can make an account and verify your artist tag, so anytime you post, people will know it's from you specifically (when people post art on there, the post isn't labeled with the poster's name, instead it uses artist tags so every art piece can be credited) You already have a tag on there if you wanna get it connected to a profile that you make, so anytime you add it to your posts, people know the art is from the OG artist and not someone else).

I understand, in fact I'm completely aware I have my own tag :P I created it when I started posting my stuff there. I don't post my works anymore cause there's nice people doing it instead, but I keep track of my page pretty closely, so...for e621 I personally think I'm just fine as I am now, my art gets posted as soon as I release it here, my name and socials show there and it gets some good attention ^^ still, thank you!

Keep in mind that π (previously Twitter) converts all GIF uploads into super compressed MP4 files and if you want higher quality video files, you have to pay for π Premium. Then e621 people have to take that and try to convert it back to GIF or WebM which significantly reduces it's quality.
So with animations, you should upload yourself so that some random doesn't completely destroy the quality with the conversion process, site also prefers quality so you can flag or replace conversions yourself.
