Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving

by
Welp, I hope all of you enjoyed the Macy's parade, saw a few good movies, spent time with your loved ones, and at least ATE something. Remember, this is the holiday where we set aside our differences and give thanks for the things we have, the things we earned, and the things we did not lose.

Oh yeah, it was also my birthday, on Thursday, too. Needless to say, it was good. :)

"give thanks for the things we have, the things we earned, and the things WE DID NOT LOSE"

this must be one of the deepest and most thoughtful meanings in regards to teh Thanksgiving i possibly ever read

that "did not lose" literally gave me shivers.... how hard is actually remember of the things we "luckily still have" with us?

I say that because, for four years in a row, I lost a lot of family (the last two grandparents, and two I lost to bad health)... and two cats (one of which I grew up with for 19 years).

The older you get, the more you feel lucky for the things you didn't lose that you hold dear.

Self-induced PTSD from past instances can get you into some dark places, mentally.
