So, SFM content isn't allowed anymore.

Read this journal and the comment thread below it first.

So, if this is true, then it looks like I've just lost my only niche on the internet...

I honestly don't know what to do.  SFM has given me at least something productive to do with my life for a good while now, even if I don't use it as often as I want to.  But now, because a handful of artists got all pissy, my account is now at risk of being nuked for doing something that's been perfectly fine to do until now.

If the worst happens, then I don't know what to do.  I can't post most of my stuff on Furaffinity, because they have a rule against underage characters, basically meaning half the roster I use in my work.  And DA is pretty much out of the question as well.

All I can say is, if there is any art in my gallery that you truly like, then save it to your hard drive to preserve it.  It may be your last chance...

And thank you again for 500 followers.  It means a lot to me to know that there are that many people who think I'm worthy enough to be followed.

Can't on FA cause of their rule against underage content
RawAxis

It's prohibited as well but they only go after the most famous users or relevant works.

Make a Tumblr and post your work there. Simple. And for the record, SFM work where you don't use your own models has ALWAYS been against IB's ACP, the ACP has never changed
Jeffron

But what if the guy who made models for it intended for them to be used? what about giving credit to the original artist? or terms and conditions the original modeler states? like "hey you can use these, just credit me."
Weiss

I guess that would be up to the original creator of the model but also up to IB's staff. The fact is, SFM work where you don't use your own models has always been against the site's ACP, it was just never enforced before. I don't know why they chose to start enforcing it now but it's always been against the ACP

Even so some of these guys are animators, not modelers and may be using that skill set. If the original creator is fine with the use of it, it should be ok.

Can you apply that same case to an artist who may not make thier own models but does the renders in 3Dsmax? what about Maya? like SFM they're also capable of 3D animation in fact that's what they are, animation and modeling programs.
Weiss

Actually you can, Sure they are animating something but they are animating something that isn't their and they didn't create themselves. But, again, it also depends on the rules of the sites they post their work on. For example Tumblr has no such rules and allows it(as long as proper credit is given). IB has different rules regarding acceptable posts, you can't generalize and use the same context for every case

Tumblr is not an ideal place to post; not the most safest site I'm sure. I've caught malware from that place. Plus the community's one of the most toxic things ever. This place is/was good compared to that.

I'd even reccomend FA but honestly some people are here because the issue with sonic porn pushed some folks here in the first place.

FA has the same rules as IB regarding this type of content. And if SFM artists make a mass exodus there, the situation will blow up much faster than it did here because FA is mostly piss and vinegar and SFM content would be reported faster than Sonic can eat a chilly dog

As for Tumblr, i've been using it for years and i follow a number of adult Tumblrs, never had a single issue with it
Jeffron

I only started having malware problems after I went on tumblr I cannot say the same for your case.

IB's already pretty small so this mass exodus is gonna make things a lot more barren around here

SFM images are allowed if you create the models by yourself or create something "sufficiently unique" with the models your borrowing, otherwise it always hasn't been allowed.
Jeffron

That's till pretty rigid if you ask me. Imagine that same logic being applied to all artists who draw POV images? with so many even you could end up having similar ones.

The thing is that when people draw they have their unique drawing style, in SFM people can't have a unique style, the models will always look the same or have the same feeling.

Being a 3D animation software it actually is possible: believe it or not in 3D animation animators can have different style of animation, not just in how their models work, but how they move. You can look at different studios like Pixar, Dreamworks etc. the style is not just in how their characters look, but how they move. You can tell if you're observant enough.

Granted most people who have this SFM are just starting out so it takes awhile for some styles to be established.

Sorry, I failed to mention that I was talking about images, I know that people have different animation styles :)

Twitter is a possible option, alot of artists have started posting there as of late, mostly migrating from Tumblr. And on FA, the rules against underage characters seem to be very inconsistently applied, like for instance I've never had any issues with any of the sonic porn I've posted there. Tumblr, while not a great option , is a possible one, same with making an art blog somewhere else.

Pretty sure that you can't post porn on Twitter.
BradmanX

You seem to be able to, any posts containing it just have to be marked as containing sensitive media, iirc you can mark your twitter blog as containing sensitive media so your posts get marked by default. You can't use porn for your header image or display pic though, those have to be sfw.

Also, btw on a note unrelated to twitter, looks like sfm art might be fine on SoFurry based on their AUP.

I've seen plenty of porn of twitter from artist.

Have you considered using sofurry at all? Its a pretty good alternative to furafinity and allows most content. I('m really sorry you guys are going through this BS).

That's the third time I've heard about SoFurry as a result of this.  I may consider it, but for now, I think I should lay low for a bit and see how things play out.

I've used it myself for a couple of years with no issues. And I don't blame you man. Hope things work out.

There is SoFurry and Weasyl. I think they allow SFM and don't have a problem with underage characters.

I'd say try sofurry.com. Never had any issues with SFM or underage stuff over there. For sure safer then dealing with the FA mods.

There's also e621.  Have you thought about that site for your works?
TheHumbleFellow

Not really.  That site seems a little too chaotic for my tastes.

Its alright.  I've seen a few SFM pictures on there.  Is it because of the tagging system?

If it helps, I've moved pretty much everything over to Tumblr and FurAffinity. So far I've been fine. I don't quite have the following that you do, but I do recommend giving it a try at the very least.

Ever thought about starting a Discord channel? A lot of artists I followed on Patreon and follow post a,lot of their art on it to avoid their ban policies and you have more control on what you want to post or who can be allowed to see what
You can also block chats or comments on it too so trolling or harssment can be a non issue

Anyone else noticing that sfm is still being made and not banned from inkbunny? I think that whole thing was blown out of proportion or someone stole someone's work and passed it off as their own. I think you're in the clear

It seems like it, but I'm still not 100% sure.
