Maybe My Pokémon GO was Hacked

I did some more thinking on the incident that happened within my Pokémon GO account having two strikes that I did not know about, and I think I have come up with a good theory on what actually happened:
A few months ago a new Pokémon Trading feature had been added to GO, which allows player to trade Pokémon with each other. At this point some malicious people would seek the benefits of obtaining more of the rare Pokémon that can be found in the game to sell them to players. Of course, obtaining the rare Pokémon is a difficult task, so their alternative method is to hack into the accounts of players to seek and steal all of the rare Pokémon they have.
I can only make a guess that my Pokémon GO account was a victim of such activity. The GO Server system must have detected suspicious activity last month, and had needed to strike my account twice as a result.

Because this seems like the most likely scenario, I wanted to put it out here and have everyone learn from this. And I urge everyone to have long complicated passwords, as well as probably have it changed periodically.
Because there IS a Team Rocket out there; they are not going to play fair and do not care if your account is permanently blocked from their malicious activity.
