Uploads

So.... I'm going through my uploads and I'm trying to get IB caught up with my FA posts. Right now I'm trying to keep it to no more than 4 posts a day to prevent spamming but with the sheer amount of what I have in my backlog (over 300 images) that's going to take about 3 months to upload everything.

I'm thinking of doing 1 upload per hour from 12pm to 9pm which would shorten that time considerably.

Any thoughts on this? Because I am leaning heavily towards the second option just because of the bulk of what I've got. (Though to be fair, some of the images I can't post on IB because they involve human(oids) so it's possible the amount would go down. I just need to take time to look through them)

You can also group some pics together, like if they're alts or part of the same series of pics.  I doubt you have much to worry about in regards to "spamming" people.

Plus that second option's drip-feed method will mean you'll come up more often under "Latest", for whatever that's worth..not sure how many people actually browse that.

4 posts a day is fine imo.  It gives everyone plenty of content and time to appreciate your work, and fresh stuff for months!  Whichever is easier for yourself is what i recommend.

It's quite fine to run with the second option if you want -- uploading once per hour. Since the goal is to catch up, the faster you upload, the better. All-in-all 9 images scattered through the day isn't a problem for the most part.

Considering the queue function in the settings, just having a bunch of images scheduled to post but restricted by the queue timer so long as PostyBirb is active should be alright. As you've a large backlog, keeping the pace high probably would do better as folks wouldn't have to jump to your other galleries to get the latest; as you approach the end of your backlog you can ease off the pacing by way of increasing the timer between posts.

Either way, best of luck! 👍

Yeah, you shouldn't need to worry too much about that.

From a pure technical perspective it's potentially preferable if you upload the submissions earlier rather than later (or else, possibly very late if you're on the US West Coast or thereabouts), because the site starts to get busy CPU-wise around mid-afternoon US Eastern time and for the next eight to ten hours after that. You can still publish them whenever and they will be "re-dated" the to the front of your gallery the first time that happens for each submission.

You don't have really large images (although they are PNG, which gets recompressed) so this might not be too much of a concern, unless any delay is a problem for you.
