Starting to draw

So I've always wanted to draw. But I can barely draw stickmen well and I have hardly any experience in the past with it. I didn't even doodle when I was in school or at any time. I never really had an interest in it.

Fast forward to my entry to the fandom, when Tobi was first drawn back in April 2019. I started to wonder if I could. Although I never gave it much thought. I assumed it would be a week long fad at most. But lockdown came in 2020 in the U.K and I decided to draw a few pokemon, but after using a drawing tablet connected to my pc, I didn't get on with it well at all and ultimately gave up.

But now we come to today, I have a new iPad and I got the pencil with it. I want to draw, I want to get good at it and my ultimate goal is to do a comic based on my characters and the world I have made in my head. But that's going to take time, patience, and practice. And I don't have a lot of any of those. I struggle to keep myself motivated, I have little free time with work, and practice is about 7 or 8 pieces of pokemon I drew nearly 2 years ago.

But I am determined to do it. I want to be able to contribute something, anything, to this fandom. I want to make others happy with artwork like how so many artists have made me happy with the art I've received. My art will be bad at first, and I most likely won't post it until I think it's worthy. Which might not be for months, and that's assuming I keep this up. And that brings me to a question for you guys.

Would you like to see everything I do? From basic headshots of Pikachu to whatever I feel confident in doing? Almost like a journey from humble beginnings to (hopefully) a somewhat decent collection of artwork. I know I'll never be considered one of the best. I am 27 now, and while I believe it's never too late, my potential must be somewhat limited as to what it could have been if I started earlier. I'm not doing this for anyone but myself to begin with but I'd love the feedback. And it might be exciting to see someone grow as an artist from scribbled drawings to magnificent works of art that we all dream of making one day.

At any rate, I have no idea how many people will get this far, I've rambled on enough. But I want to draw, I just have no idea if I'll stick with it or not. I'll need a lot of encouragement from you guys. Knowing some people would love to see what I may do could be just what I need.

I wish you luck with it. Look for videos and other places where you can get advice.
