Well, to be honest the art sites are absolutely flooded. You have to do something that appeals to a niche, or be early to a new trend to grab attention.
DeviantArt is still one of the biggest gallery sites out there, with enormous potential exposure, BUT it's also cluttered with crap and hard to get noticed.
There's an anime coming out very soon, however, which I think will become very searchable: "Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts", based on a manga which completed last year. There is a swiftly growing fanbase for it, but almost nothing art-wise outside of Japanese sites.
It has lots of furry characters, a cute girl, magic, a wolf antagonist named Fenrir... basically LOTS of things will will show up in a general search.
Might be a good way to stand out.

I think they get around restrictions by offering 'porny' versions of artworks, blurring, posting just portions of the art without the X-rated stuff.
Though I have also seen PLENTY of totally naked females, and DeviantArt doesn't seem to care about that anymore. Wangs seem to be the main problem.
There's even one account that I know DOES show a ton of sex, and it's been on there for years. I'm not sure how it wiggles around the rules, but it's a well-known account, so clearly there's a way.
DevianArt has been constantly changing their policies, so they may have done something like allowing porn if the account is only seen by subscribers to it. I think you can label the pics such that only subs can see certain things.
