Tagging and filtering as an alternative to content bans

by
My latest Flayrah article is up! It looks at the situation on Fur Affinity, trends in expression in the furry fandom and how proper tagging and filtering could work as a better alternative to banning large swathes of content.

Aw, now you're asking them to do something that makes sense.  I've been with FA since I first became interested in furry art about 8 years or so ago.  I can't recall them ever doing anything that makes real sense.

I'm just optimistic. Plus, other people will have to make similar decisions in the future. I'd rather not have a repeat of FA.

Me, too.  Unfortunately, once one site starts doing something, the rest tend to follow in lockstep with slight almost unnoticeable differences.

Out of curiosity, do you think FA will implement a blacklist anytime soon? I'd been using it since 2008 and I think they started promising it around 2012 but never got to it, seems like they've had plenty of time to work that out but idk :(

Filtering was promised in 2006. That message is quoted in my article. I used to cover FA's failure to implement any changes and it has been nothing if not consistently slow.
