How did you get motivated?

by
Hi all,

So for the past 15 years, basically half my life, I've been struggling to make choices and commit to them.
I've finished an education after a relatively long time, which definitely affected my self-confidence but even more so in my confidence in making choices. Especially life changing ones.

I'll pick something up occasionally but then have trouble sticking to it to get good at it or learn it proper. I do enjoy the things I pick most of the times but I just can't stick to it.
Some things I even invest a little money in, other things I get gifted and ofcourse obligatory gym membership that I neglect because it's so haaaaaard...

So my question is, people who have been in my situation, where you just can't make choices and/or can't stick to the ones you make. How did you change it? How have you gotten out of that hole that keeps you sliding back in?

TLDR;
People who used to not be able to make choices, how did you change?

It seems only make journals to ask people for help or promote people I like these days.

Feel free to DM me with your answer if you feel that's easier.

You have to have passion or interest. Start with 1 projwct or an idea and dont stop until its completed.

I thought I did have passion and I certainly have interest. Other things just seem to draw my interest and my attention away too.
I'll keep on trying to focus on 1 thing and do it, let you know if i manage to make it work :3

Ridic is cool, very old school but still very cool :P

I'd love a martial art really, it's just hard to do where I live right now. There is barely any and the ones that are around are done by "white men in their fifties" and I'm not talking about their age or ethnicity but their type of human being.
I did Taekwon do aaaages ago, actually enjoyed it for quite long until my bullies all started doing it too and I lost the joy of going where they weren't >w<

Well there's good training DVDs on Amazon that can help you learn the martial arts maybe try there , I'll look around for some good DVDs with the  martial arts training and ranking levels on it for you if you want.

Wanna know the funniest thing?

I think there isn't a piece of electronics that can do dvd in my house. Laptops and computers don't have it installed in them. PS 3 doesn't take it and we've never bothered getting a player since DVD's went kinda of out of use for us. All we wanna see we pirate or find on services.

But that means I could look up the instructions online I think i'll try that actually :3

I still struggle with it a bit but I tend to just imagine what my mum would tell me, I try to basically tell myself "Are you really going to be like that? Seriously, already giving up on something you barely started?" It tend to work but still... I tend to be too nice to myself sometimes when I shouldn't so I still fail to post stuff sadly. But it can work to a certain extent! ^^

First off, kudos for reaching out and being open about what you're going through. It's totally normal to feel stuck sometimes. Making choices and committing to them can be tough, especially when it feels like there's a pattern of starting but not finishing. I remember I also had problems with choosing a profession and I was looking for a solution to the problem. Found https://essays.edubirdie.com and asked to write a story about the future profession. Then I realized who I want to become and I am studying at the university for a profession that I like. One thing that might help is breaking down your goals into smaller, more manageable steps. Instead of seeing it as this big commitment, focus on the smaller actions you can take each day. It might make the process feel less overwhelming.
