Karens?

Two nights ago, I randomly noodled about the thought of Karens, those loudly overbearing women full of entitlement, and how much that's actually kind of an insult towards woman who are legitimately named Karen.  Further, what about their male counterparts, the so-called Kevins?  I knew a Kevin back in school, and he certainly wasn't an obnoxious walking gob of entitlement.  And so the following popped into my head.  I know vulgarity isn't my usual modus operandi, so I apologize for that.

" pissybudget, n. A middle-aged person loudly exhibiting a sense of entitlement.

Is the male a 'Kevin' or a 'Chad'? Maybe the 'Chad' applies to the overly masculine jock type.

From what I gather, the Chad is a different sort of male – very handsome, tall, sexually attractive, and seen as an alpha male.  They're someone to admire, which is a far cry from the pissybudget.

That name works for me.  It's funny.  Some time back I asked myself how those women earned that nickname.  I even asked several people and no one could come up with a believable answer.

It's probably because some person noticed a couple women named Karen were acting like pissybudgets, so simply named the type of person after the name, and it caught on somehow.  The Kevin version likely happened because it sounded similar to Karen when someone wanted to extend the concept to men.

Yeah.  That also makes sense.  I know that we do tend to "make up" names that sound similar for male and/or female characters that act similarly.
