I cannot really agree.
For me, needing, wanting and derising things is what makes life interesting.
If I just had everything from the start I would be bored and would probably hate this world way more than I already do..... and believe me, I hate it a lot.
Getting what I want, making this and that achievement, making the effort to take what I want to be mine...... that is what can still put a resemblence of a smile on my face.
If I didn't have that...... I can't think of anything I'd have left.
