Why do people hate "horny comments"?

by
Seriously. There are irl pornstars with their face out there who get sexually harassed and even assaulted irl (an ACTUAL PROBLEM) and there are anonymous porn artists who can't handle someone saying "I wanna breed this fictional character" in  their comments section? It defeats the purpose of having comments if you can't express your enjoyment of something in it. They're complimenting your work in their own way. Let it be.

Why are you even drawing porn if that bothers you? I'm not usually one to call people out for being too sensitive (as I'm a sensitive boi myself) but if you can't handle the heat just get out of the kitchen. You're ruining the fun by being too sensitive.  It makes me very flaccid.

well, that's the modern world (in the west)... everybody is sensitive about everything. at some point language itself will be illegal because everybody nowadays get offendet by everything. I heard a comidian in my country joke about the word "I" and that it will be illegal to use soon too, because it's a selfish word and excludes everybody else. 🤔

lol. All jokes aside, I think it's good to be sensitive about certain things. It's just that some people like to play the victim, and as someone who's been through some fucked shit, I feel insulted when people blow things out of proportion. They act like a porn comment just raped them. It's very strange. It's even outlawed on e621. I don't get it.

I think it's mostly when the OC being drawn is the artist's fursona. They see those comments as being directed towards themselves since the fursona is a direct representation of who they are and makes them feel icky

That makes sense, but that can easily be avoided by just... not drawing your fursona doing lewd things. If it's a sfw drawing people have EVERY fight to be upset if people are making them uncomfortable in their comments/dms I feel. Where I get confused is when porn artists get offended that porn makes people horny? Perhaps I'm too heated, I just really do not understand.

let me be more specific. Don't POST porn of your sona if you don't want strangers to sexualize them, just keep that art between you and your friends. It's a simple solution to a simple problem

I still remember one instance where someone banned me from their entire account for commenting "She almost got the buttplug in that time, gotta keep trying". The picture was literally a character practicing with a buttplug. Like damn just disable the comments entirely if you don't want people commenting on what the character is literally doing xD

That's so ridiculous. You know what they say, "if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen."

Because we live in a socialist society where everyone is a sexually dysfunctional special slowflake who makes up for having no life and piss poor education with getting triggered. Triggered, by, EVERYTHING.

I feel you there. There's a clearcut different between creepy/harassment comments and then just people who are getting sexually excited over porn -- you know, the way you're supposed to.

context.  something a boyfriend would tell you doesn't have the same reaction as when a total stranger says it.
It's the same as getting catcalled while walking down the street.  The feeling that if whoever made the comment ran into you, they'd try to act on their words whatever your opinion was.
Unless it's happened to you, it may be difficult to understand the feeling.

Your feelings are valid. I wish no one to feel unsafe or uncomfortable. I think you're missing the focal point however, if you'd allow me to explain my perspective further.

The "innocently horny" comments which I refer to are comments such as "Wow, sonic is so hot i wanna fuck him." Many people misinterpret comments like these made on their art as an intent to sexually harm the artist themselves. The commenter made no comment toward the artist themselves, nor showed any malicious intent. If someone were to say "wow, this artist should suck my dick, this is hot" there definitely would be a problem and I would side with the artist.

My reason for making this journal is that many people interpet those two separate intentions as if they're the same, and end up wrongfully lashing out against innocent people. This misdirected lashing out frustrates me, as it undermines genuine malicious attacks. I hope I explained my thoughts better in there. I apologize if I've upset you in any way.

The problem is that everyone has a different definition of what "creepy" or "horny" or "naughty" or "lewd" is.

Hell, I'm totally okay if someone tells me they blasted a load or two to my sexy gay furry stories, but other writers aren't...

Eventually, people just err on caution and fear of "getting canceled" and don't post ANY comments after a while because someone "MIGHT" get offended.

So then it turns into artist wondering why they no longer get "engagement" anymore, because people are so damn afraid of offending some "rando" that they never even try in the first place.

Can't even keep count of all the journals from artists mention "rules for commenting" it eventually gets to the point where the fandom has collectively sent so many mixed signals, nobody knows what is or isn't okay. Hell I even see artists bitching about people that leave comments like "That's hot" or "Nice work" or "I love this art" making even nice comments an offense now too.

That does make sense, I suppose everyone has a different tolerance level with their comfort of talking about lewd stuff. I figure if you're making porn and posting it online you should know what you're getting into. Doesn't justify actual harassment or stalking, bc that's fucked up. It's just crazy to me how even people with genuine trauma who I've observed (myself included) can filter out things, but the moment someone says "that's hot" on e621 they get a strike on their account. I find it concerning how people want to make sex and porn feel so nonsexual. Perhaps there's more psychology to the topic than I realize, idunno. It's interesting hearing all of your perspectives.

your question is difficult and to answer =^^"=
it with a short text is really far too comprehensive *meow*
i am trying to grab the problem by the tail...

a comment, when read is just text that everyone interprets for themselves ;-)
It happens that people feel attacked by a comment. and when reading a text, no matter what words are written in it,
i can never recognize how it is really meant. it could always be a joke or someone is trying to start a discussion with this comment. if you react sensitively to something, you might also be very sensitive at that moment.

fact: you shouldnt put too much weight on a comment but be happy that someone wrote something at all and was interested in what was shown ^~° many things are always left without comment and that can also hurt people.

IB needs a voice chat =^^"=

very insightful ^w^ i get what you mean. We don't communicate just by words, but also tone of voice, volume, body language, and facial expressions. Just text doesn't give all the info and can create more lapses in communication... very acute observation *pats your head* cute lion >w<

Eh, if I want to do anything at all more interesting than just make someone bust a nut, it's disappointing. I'm not offended, not angry, just dismayed at having wasted effort in trying to write anything more than a loving description of a cock ramming into an asshole over and over again. Yeah, they enjoyed the sex. Whoop-de-doo. I am not so desperate that just getting any attention at all is enough of a salve for that being the only worthwhile thing in the story. Just means I did a bad job with anything else I wanted to do.

That's understandable. I often feel similarly, that if my art were actually good people would notice the art quality more than the sex itself, but that's also part of the nsfw genre I think. People look at porn to incite arousal, even if it's done in artsy-est most mona-lisa way possible. Fappability is the aspect most viewers care about. It can be draining if I was going for something super artsy that no one notices. I feel you there. I just think the best way to avoid the negative feelings is to not take one's own art too seriously. Artists are often underappreciated, in history and in the present. It's mostly other artists who will notice the new brush you used or the new approach to dialogue you used in your writing.

That's my personal observation at least. I appreciate that I can hear your perspective (everyone else here too). It gives me things to think about.

Yeah, 100% agreed. Anyone who doesn't like "horny comments" doesn't like life, because without horny they literally wouldn't exist. What pharmaceutical drugs are these people on that not only join the furry community from finding the porn art, but then turn around and bash others for feeling the same way... Ultimate hypocrisy

Like you're drawing art for people to cum to. As long as they aren't referencing you personally, I don't see the problem.

Also need to tell the mods e621 this too as they will warn you for saying you want to fuck a character.
