E621

You know, something's really bothering me.

I never minded when people reposted my drawings,,,, but I keep thinking about how asshole the internet is,

I've never allowed anything of mine to be reposted, and they're not commissions,,, they're MY character's drawings,,,

SPECIFICALLY on e621,,,,

I tried to think of it as a kind of "disclosure", but I don't know if that's good or not. It's not helping me at all, it's just making me worry;;;

Should I ask them to delete my drawings from the site?

If you don't want them there, I'd suggest having them put you on the DNP list. Then none of your art can be posted here.

πŸ‘€ I didn't know that existed;;;

Yeah, if you follow the DNP instructions, they'll take them down and are pretty effective at keeping new posts flagged and removed. It's what I do.

And as an artist, it is hugely disrespectful to repost anything without your permission. The internet doesn't respect anything and basically promotes theft. Its also about exposure, some people just prefer to stay within a very small trusted circle.

Reposting someone's work is giving you attention you don't want. It's not just a credit thing, its a safety thing.

if you dont want your art being posted on to E621 then i think you should ask for it to be removed.

I'm going to do something about it,

,,, I think that not showing a finished drawing is a waste,,, but some drawings I deleted because I don't like them,,,, and they insist on existing without my consent on another site!

yeah, its totally fair to determine what you want to share on the internet of your art. a lot of people believe in preservation of media and want to preserve what they deem valuable, but you as the creator do not have to abide by their wishes.
i did save the comics you have posted here but i dont re-upload art on e621 or elsewhere with out explicit permission

Really? You saved it? XD

I'm glad you liked it enough to save it,,,,

,,, like I said,,, I don't mind too much,,,,,,but I'm paranoid about the possibility of being "found";;;

lord knows, im cautious about that too
after making an account on here with my main username i tried to make sure im not linked to my real identity as much as possible.
i dont want to deal with people being idiots just because i wanted to connect to other people who also have strange fetishes

also yeah haha, i instantly fell in love with your writing ^_^

Completely agree. Ultimately I don’t like the culture of taking someone’s work and reposting it. I see it almost as a form of credit stealing (though source links are required to my knowledge).

Ultimately I wouldn’t worry about your art being on that site. I have never heard of any harm coming from peoples art being on that site and ultimately it’s a form of free publicity (provided source links are accurate). But if it makes you more comfortable then definitely ask them to put you on the DNP list. Fuck anyone who didn’t reach out and ask first.

I've already suffered on Twitter from a group of people who attacked me, twice;

on one occasion, they tracked me down via e621.

Yeah,,, it started with a discussion on discord, so I guess it's personal,,,

,,, I'm afraid of being stalked and having something done to me IRL;;;

And the most interesting thing is that I draw ONLY shota/cub,,, and the person who found my drawings was just accusing me of drawing that,,,

,,,but to find me she needs to access this category,,,,isn't that suspicious?

then... why didn't you send the admins a DNP request?
GreenFr00g
3 months, 2 weeks ago
I didn't know about this until now,,,, I thought about sending a message to the administrators asking for it to be removed.

I only use the site to look up references for drawings;;;;

;;;; does it sound hypocritical to want to remove my drawings even though I'm a user of the site?
TribalDragon

not at all, but you can get yourself verified so your artist tag has a checkmark like on twitter indicating the artist is the poster
GreenFr00g

πŸ‘€ hmmm;;;; I don't want to jump the gun again, I have to think about it,

the e621 has a good range, but some drawings I really need to delete from there;;;

You can also submit a ticket with a list of specific posts you want axed. Instead of a blanket ban using DNP.

I'm going to play the devil's advocate and say that I found a lot of good artists here on Inkbunny using e621. But of course, your art, your rules.
TribalDragon
3 months, 2 weeks ago
That's called a conditional DNP, so you can request specific rules of what can only be posted, or even completely denying accepting uploads that are not uploaded exclusively by you
mobkiller
3 months, 2 weeks ago
On some sites you can make a request for a "conditional" DNP listing.
Like only you yourself can upload your art to the site. That way you got control over what´s out there.
e621 does it.
GreenFr00g

I'm going to take that route, it seems the best option

I've seen your art posted to e621.  I can't imagine why you want any of it deleted.
I rarely save art to my hard drive, but when and where artists I like remove all their artwork for one reason or another, I still have a place I can go and enjoy the artwork they've produced.  If you disappear again, I'd like to be able to keep going to e621 so I can enjoy your artwork.
Also something to think about:  There are site archives of both Inkbunny and e621 that include your work, and there are people who DO save individual art pieces to their computers.  Even if you have e621 remove your work entirely, work you've posted in the past, ALL of it, is still out there, still obtainable, just annoying to get ahold of.  So why go to the trouble of having it removed?  All that's really happening is making it harder for people who honestly like your work to view that work, while others are still showing and sharing it around in telegram groups.
I'd personally find it frustrating if your art vanished(again), and, wanting to see it, had to wait for some random person who has hoarded it to their hard drive to share it so I can say, "Ah, yes, I remember that awesome artwork.  I wish I could go and see it whenever I wanted."

I don't think it's that " awesome "

I know that on the internet NOTHING is deleted,,, it's scary,,,

And I don't mind if they repost my drawings on telegram,

I don't intend to disappear again,,,, ,,,, ,,, ,, ,, ,πŸ˜”πŸ˜”

,,, I've had one (or two) bad experiences being tracked by e621; in fact I don't want to delete all the drawings,,,, just the ones I don't like (most of them, but not all);;;

We can peacefully disagree on how awesome or not your work is.  I think your stuff is awesome.
As for everything else, I hope you come to a good resolution that works for you, independent of what I would prefer.  Good luck!

IOW: e621 is the Google of furry art, and since any fool can use a search engine...  It sucks that cyberbullies ruin everything.  It's like they have some psychosis where they feel an itch to unravel OTHER people's sweaters!  Disclaimer:  Member of both sites, and no, I generally ask, so did not upload any of your art.  And you CAN get pages with your images delisted by Google, too.  Learn the DMCA process.  They literally can't charge you for filing it, but there ARE some requirements.

You can contact https://inkbunny.net/DragonfruitPrinting (Dragonfruit is official contact) to get verified.  It gives you far finer and easier control, especially if you don't want to go nuclear on your old art (which makes non-haters sad, obviously).  If you go DNP, you can still allow specific posts or ones you upload to stay.  You can specify specific posts to remove, and leave others alone.

I highly, highly recommend following ConoStudios' advice and making an account and go through the process at https://e621.net/help/staff#verification .

And yeah, the (un)usual suspects are on Twitter like fleas are on a dog.  Sites with algorithms designed to create controversy make the Dead Internet Theory feel more real every day.  :facepalm:  Note:  It's a sort of joke conspiracy theory where 99% of the Internet is corporate shill bots or something.  Either way, no organic content.  I wonder who unironically takes it seriously as stated.

One problem I see:  Remove it from e621, and they'll just go to other sites.  Again, DMCA is your friend, here.  For most abusers, if it ain't on Bing or Google or Yandex, it doesn't exist.  The walled gardens and secrecy are a different problem - there are trolling groups that just hide behind veils to organize and share information.
