Futue of my Art, Sis's Gamble, Change of Rules, etc.

Hello everyone

I have mentioned this before but as many of you probably know I've been going through some difficult times regarding my health.

There is several works that has been affected by my condition:

Sis's Gamble 2 is taking too long
Change of Rules 2 has been on hiatus for years
Lack of personal Art
Even the game I'm making is having delays.

I know a lot of you who supports my art wants to see more of them but I just can't seem to find energy and feeling well enough to continue them consistently.
As long I keep being sick these 4 categories will keep delaying indefinitely and I want to apologize for that, as I know a lot of you contributed to my Patreon, to my Subscriebstar, to my Ko-fi, to my kickstarter and so on and I feel bad that I keep delaying nonstop.

As for my condition, I haven't got a clear answer from doctors. Some send me tests, give me medicine and so on, and while some of it helps, no one has really identified my main problem. I've been having a constant feeling of unwellness, like if I was permanently post flu where you dont feel energy at all and your body is in a permanent state of recovery that never ends. I'm still checking with doctors to see what the problem could be. But spending every day in that state is affecting my mind already.

Meanwhile I hope I can continue my works at a proper speed. Some people has recommended me to take a break, to take vacations and so on, but those things cost a lot of money and I probably better prioritize paying doctors than paying vacations.

Anyways, I just wanted to explain why I've been so inconsistent with content, specially on Subscribestar and sorry for making the wait that long.

Special thanks to

For all of the advances in health care (I work at a hospital), it still strongly remains based on doctors who are pretty much biological mechanics who are at a disadvantage, because with a car, a mechanic can go off of limited info, but they can get in the car, turn it on, drive it and be able to narrow things down fairly quickly in most cases, even more so with the fact that cars have computer systems that can, with the right tools display error codes that can greatly cut down on time spent.

A doctor can only really use information given by a patent as a rough starting point to narrow down with tests, lots of them. The more info provided can help, but only to a certain point. All of the doctors and specialists I know for say that sometimes this process can take years in some cases and advice extensive diary keeping of everything that someone experiences each day at different points, during different conditions, as this can help, but again, only to a point. They can't climb into a patent's body which hampers them and lots of smaller hospitals have largely farmed out tests to facilities that specialize in certain tests. This results in greater amounts of data and imaging, but it also has caused the cost to skyrocket, as each testing facility needs people trained for that kind of test and the schooling is not cheap.

When you add in that there's a history of bad actors who have caused many patents harm and even death by malpractice, this means that doctors have to be insured to the hilt AND many of them, who went though years and years of brutal working practices and outdated 'I did it and they must too' from the doctors training the next gen, many doctors will test and test and test and test, even if it doesn't get them any closer. For anyone not making 200k or more a year with uber level medical insurance and every single testing facility retaining debt collectors, it can quickly get to a point where patents can't get treatment and are condemned to live lives full of pain and discomfort until their bodies give out or they seek a way out.

Heathcare in the first world nations is becoming fucked, if it's not already fucked. As someone who is experiencing some of the issues you speak of and beginning down the road to find out exactly what the fuck is going on, I feel deeply for you. I will speak to some of the doctors I see each day (The ones who are willing to speak, a lot of doctors with many years behind them, or the sought-after specialists tend to loath anyone coming with health questions who is not a patent paying) and see if I can find a path forward that might help you. From your words, the illnesses you are dealing with are chipping away at your mental state bit by bit, which is extremely common when you are suffering and can't find a way forward, or some answer that can help you find a light at the end of the tunnel. I sometimes think that will be the same for me if I don't simply give into knowing that finding an answer will result in medical debt that i'll be paying on for the rest of my days.

Thank you for your support

Yeah it's slowly eating my mind, sometimes I get the feeling Im driving crazy. Is just a constant of feeling unwell that never goes away and doctors, like you said, just ask for tests, but not sure what else they can do when the problem is hard to find too. I just hope at some point a doctor spots it.

I hope you will start to feel better and the artworks will keep coming. Perhaps it's a bit of a stretch but, given what we've gone through the past few years, is there any chance it could be long covid? Most people got covid and for some it just left them constantly tired even when they recovered from the disease itself.

I never got sick from Covid, but I also don't know if I had it without even knowing. I would need to ask that to my doctor next time.

You do what you need to do.  Your health comes before all else.  I do hope the doctors can find some way to help, and that you can get back to doing what you enjoy first and foremost.

Healthcare IS definitely fucked. Atleast where I am in the US. All I need for an example is my mother.

My mother had had excruciating back pain. Went to the VA hospital er. Gave her a shot for the pain and said go home. No tests or anything of the sort to find out what it was. This went on for about 2 weeks. She made an appointment with her primary, who as she walked in said my mother looked like hell. Told her to go back to the er, she's being admitted on her orders. The asshole who saw her come in almost daily for the pain now, no joke, walked up and said "You here for another shot?" like she was a damn addict. Turned out my mother had abscesses from C2 to T6 DESTROYING HER FUCKING SPINE. For those that don't know, C2 is literally 1 bone away from the brain stem. It was bad enough they operated THAT NIGHT with a 106F fever. Surgeons do NOT like to operate when there's a fever unless the issue is life threatening. My mother had to spend almost half a year in a neck brace to make sure the new titanium rods in her neck wouldn't move.

Aftermath of all that, She now can barely turn her head ever again, and has almost no use in her left hand, which also has lost most of the... Plumpness? A hand normally has. She now can't sleep on her side ever again either. Also, has to live with near constant pain the rest of her life. All the pain killers, and even high grade medical weed just takes the edge off.

The only plus side of the whole fiasco, she won the lawsuit, and the entire er got fired.

I know what you mean, I had terrible experiences at hospitals before too, I've been pretty much sick all my life and I experienced some of those bad doctors, they gave me hell too. Is sad the persons who are suppsoe to help you ends up making all worse sometimes.

Been there with the no energy to do anything situation. Took about a year worth of appointments and tests, of course the last thing they tested was testosterone levels. I had barely any in my system and the diagnose was Klinefelter Syndrome. Now they give me testosterone with a shot every 3 months and after having the treatment for few years now, I wonder how I managed to live through so many years without it.

Just take a break. If your demotivated then you won't put much pride in the work. Your arts have been slow for a while now.  Why not just completely reset for a little bit?
