Realization

You know, I always thought it was fun, and somewhat enjoyable to put my friends characters in my strip, (with their permission of course) . But as I sit here writing content for the comic, I realize, I matter significantly less than any of them , regardless of how long I've been at this, or tried to work with the community, be part of it, do anything.. I feel like I'm just forcing the issue. Sorry for disappointing you all. I'll try my best not to do so any more.

Spotty Eep Cat is reminding me of a particular line of thought that I haven't really thought about for a while now.

When most people seek out commissions and YCH auctions, it's always to be front and center, the main focus of attention in the piece. But as I look around at what others do, it just makes me want to do the opposite, where my presence is in the background, not anywhere close to being the center of focus, and easily missed if one isn't paying attention.

Don't overthink it. Without you, the strip wouldn't exist, and I feel like my life would be a bit poorer without it! I enjoy reading it each weekend and would miss it greatly if you ever stop. I, too, am a writer (I write and design tabletop role playing games) and am constantly in awe of how effortlessly most artists make their act of creation seem. Drawing is one thing I just cannot do, no matter how much I try. And, of course, the art is the visual side of any media. But I have come to realize that without the writer to create the concept, lay out the action and script the dialog, there is no backbone. You create the story that the artist then brings to full life. Two sides of the coin - can't have one without the other! Keep up the great work, my friend - you ARE appreciated!
