First the guy who created Yu-Gi-Oh!, and now this. Akira Toriyama was the creator of the Dragonball franchise, and one of the early ambassadors of anime for Americans. His adaptation of Dragon Quest (aka Dragon Warrior) came to America in 1991, and was one of those early Japanese cartoons that was buried in the 6AM time slot. It didn't last long, either, so if you didn't see an episode that Saturday morning, you probably were never going to see it again.
Pour one out for Toriyama, the myth, the legend, the dominant force on Cartoon Network's Toonami programming block.
