RIP Akira Toriyama

I'm not always the biggest fan of anime, but I know that Mr. Toriyama inspired generations with his unique art style and fun action filled stories. I of course love DBZ, but also the games he helped work on like Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger. Maybe whoever comments can talk about one thing they loved about his work or the man himself. :3

Rest in peace, Akira Toriyama. May your soul be on its next big adventure!

Akira Toriyama revolutionized shonen manga. Every battle manga since owes EVERYTHING to him. In addition, his cinematic way of framing panels displayed the dynamic kinesthetics of the body in motion like no other artist has been able to do. He managed to portray the geometry of a three-dimensional martial art fight in such an incredible way that it influenced other comic creators and even Hollywood. Without DBZ, we wouldn't have the Matrix, for example.

He deserves to be recognized in the same breath as Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, Siegel and Shuster, and Osamu Tezuka as one of the most influential comic creators of all time.

Dragonball, Dragon Quest and even the obscure Xbox 360 game Blue Dragon. He did it all.

And without him... One Piece, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Fairy Tail... bet they wouldn't exist without him.
