Thoughts About Comissions?

I primarily asked this on Aryion since that site is a lot more active for me, but suppose there's no harm in posting the same journal here.

This is NOT me opening for commissions! I have very, very limited experience with commission work and I'm not sure I would want to do them >w<.

But... if I ★WAS★ to open for commissions, would there be any interest from anypony? I would need to think through a bunch of stuff with pricing and figure out payments and offerings but it could be fun to do things like:

----

★ 60-90 minute timed sketches in the style of https://inkbunny.net/s/3300942, https://inkbunny.net/s/3299888, https://inkbunny.net/s/3300238, or https://inkbunny.net/s/3299858 (although that one took a bit longer than 90 minutes). I could even do commissions in this style live on Piczel for commissioners that wanted to watch or give real-time feedback <3

★ Situational comics in the style of https://inkbunny.net/s/3246693 or https://inkbunny.net/s/3218704

Making Friends (Rough Comic) by foxyoreos

★ More polished drawings in the style of https://inkbunny.net/s/3240404, https://inkbunny.net/s/3287645, or possibly even https://inkbunny.net/s/3247876.

----

My worry with more polished pictures is that I might not be fast enough with them to be able to offer them at reasonable prices. https://inkbunny.net/s/3289536 took around 5 hours to do without needing to worry about a revision or feedback process, which might be borderline. More complicated art like https://inkbunny.net/s/3283313 (Raindrops on a Sunny Day) was completed over the course of multiple weeks and was a massive project. I'm worried it might be difficult to take on those styles while offering revisions, staying confident about output, and not making them really expensive.

Whatever style/subject offered, I would need to charge enough that it would be worth doing instead of just continuing to look around for more programming contracts. I don't know if my art is in that range, but sketches where I'm confident about my ability to quickly illustrate a concept in about 60-90 minutes seem like an area where I could offer something without feeling guilty about prices?

Again, this is NOT a commission opening! And I'm not asking anypony to commit to anything. This is just me being curious.

I've always just been Programmer Fox >:3, and it's only recently that I got back into drawing and started to feel like it's a thing I enjoy doing. I know I'm a very niche artist, and I'm not on Furaffinity or Twitter so I've never spent much time trying to build an audience. I want to keep my drawing mostly casual, but I am a little bit Curious Fox about whether there would be any interest at all. So if there's a style of commission anypony would want me to offer or just if anypony has any thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
