I went to see this in the theaters when it came out but waited for it to come out on DVD to give a review of it so I could sit and absorb it better. Jason Statham has been a pretty good action star in the films I've seen him in but like all of the action heroes, he's started to get up there in years and its starting to show. Not saying he's not giving a great performance but things get a little slower over the years.
The Beekeeper is a tale about a man trying to just live life and keep to himself but some scammers hack the accounts of a elderly woman he's friends with an take every cent she has, leaving her so distraught she shoots herself. You then find out he's some sort of ex-special service as he calls in a favor with his old employer to track down the scammers and precedes to literally burn down their whole building before going after the people they work for. As a beekeeper (off the books government stuff) he activates when the system is out of order and kills his way to the top to restore order and this corruption goes to the top. Its your typical super OP one man army taking out tons of specially trained cops, fbi and soldiers to get the job done and this is a RATED-R movie so there's blood and gore. There's some story to it besides just guns and fighting and given the story and what happens, its very easy to root for him no matter what he does as the people who die deserve it and the ones who don't typically just get knocked out. I won't go into more details so I don't spoil the movie for you.
if your interested in watching it, here's the download code (good tot he first one who uses it, USA residents only, sorry, I don't make that rule).
Please leave a comment if you use the code so others know its gone.
