Update: This whole post is outdated at this point. I am still holding onto hope for the fanbase, and I am DONE with listening to the negative side of things, because while every fandom has their bad apples, it doesn't automatically mean the entire fanbase of a franchise is toxic. It's how much positive or negative one fanbase shows. I am urging you guys to do the same and not listen to the fake fans' or whoever's narrative about it and find the good in the fanbase, beacuse trust me, Sonic wouldn't even have all the current, amazing content if it weren't for the fans. <3
OUTDATED - As I've already said recently in my journal and status updates, I'm out of the Sonic the Hedgehog community.
I just... I just can't take it anymore. I really TRIED to hold on, especially knowing there's people that want the franchise to get better. But at this point after talking with some people recently, I'm basically wrong... It really does look like there's abit too many people that whine and moan about anything new with Sonic as of late. And it's in due part with stupid Sega and Sonic Team basically... Forgetting what Sonic really is. These days no matter what Sonic is, be it tv shows, games, or even bloody comics (Not counting the movie. That was great actually because we made a difference.), a lot of people are ALWAYS gonna harp on anything new with Sonic and not give it a chance, as well as Sega not fulfilling Sonic's potential. It's all culminated into one big vicious cycle that even a lot of good fans can't stop. And hoenst to Aether.... I'm sick and tired of ALL of this bullcrap! As I said in the journal, we're ALL hurting Sonic too much!
I mean.... HOW FREAKING BAD IS IDW SONIC TO YOU GUYS?! I mean I can understand the metal virus arc got real dark and crud. But that means it made IDW Sonic bad? I'd truly wanna say no, but my opinion's not gonna matter, cuz apparently a LOT of people hated that arc. These days people just don't WANT to try and see the good side to crap, and basically say this thing is stupid or that's dumb or that Sega doesn't care. Just mocking Sonic nowadays, and being like 'WAAAAH THIS IDEA SUCKS, SO THE GAME SUCKS WAAAAH"!!! And then we have Sega and Sonic Team ruining their own franchise and hurting the characters of like Shadow and Tails and etc.
I'm not saying EVERY Sonic content's perfect. I know they have flaws, but if good outweighs the bad by a lot, it CAN be good. But.... Not everyone sees it that way. And very sadly, because of all of this... I can't see any hope for Sonic here. I'm now just awaiting the inevitable for the next Sonic game to be made poorly, or for people to not give a shit and be like 'this new thing is crap'. So know what....? This is why I'm falling out of love with Sonic now. Because it's become a lost cause. And at this point there's NO DENYING IT... Things are just gonna get worse and worse with Sonic until Sega decides to pull the plug. I can just see it happening. And it's really made me lose too much motivation to try and do my project. And with how I didn't get much feedback for my prototype, apparently nobody cares about my ideas.... TnT Because of that, I'm just abandoning my project ideas, and will be putting my characters up for adoption. And nothing or nobody's gonna change my mind about it. Cuz it's gonna take a LOT... To change my mind here.
I'm done speaking now. I don't even care if nobody puts comments down or crap. Cuz at this point I'm just a whisper in a large crowd. Just a small, tiny, unhearing whisper... I'm better off that way anyhow. I'm done with the babyish Sonic fandom. I'm done with the dumbasses at Sega and Sonic Team. I'm. Just. DONE! So.... Later guys...
