A picture that is only slightly more allegorical than literal, but still gets the idea behind the characters.
On the left, Gareth Ovine really grew up into his own ram. Healthy wool covering, proper demeanor, and horns he keeps intentionally short, so no one thinks he wants to scrap. He is the keeper and worker on the Ovine farm. The name has become *A* name, said in passing in the company of the likes of Weaselton and Hopps. ... Because of his sister, the ewe who came back. Small towns die blood drop by blood drop and even a transpo hub like them could become nothing more than a depot if they're nothing but old folks and temp workers. Sharla chose to come back. Like Travis Dreyson nee Blackpaw and Jaguar Manchas, those who come back matter. And his brother-in-law is an Ovine now. Gideon. Golden boy of the Tri-Burrows, hometown hero. Gareth's an Ovine. He runs the farmstead. His sweat makes food they ship out. But he's not why his name is good as gold.
Speaking of gold, his new hire from the city is unique. Gisela Howlmeyer. She roared into town one day on a throaty and powerful Snarly-Dholeson Bristleback motorcycle, from the city. No one comes from the city on the road unless they have to, if they need to take everything and go. She asked for work, any work, offered by a ram. Her foreignness was written plainly across everything. Her accent, her gear, her clothes. Mein Wolfsrudel wird deine Herde beschützen. Her family business. From the Old Country to the new, even if only her brother was a soldier and her sister worked with him at his personal protection company, she learned. A young woman, she should be in college. But she flees a city that swallowed her family whole, put her siblings in cages for taking the wrong job. Now she works for Gareth. She will do anything he requires. Work the soil, fix equipment, guard his land and his home. In a very odd way, Zootopian wolves have self-domesticated. Those who choose to walk a good road, be especially positive, are basically dogs. Gisela is almost literally a German shepherd.
A couple of characters from my series The Burrows. These two folks may not have many chapters on them, but they do have some nice interactions. They're really a nice pair.
