A bit late with this, almost missed the deadline haha. but I guess while some things grow and change, others do not. and apparently my procrastination and scatter-brained-ness never do.

I can't even really remember what things were like before MLP FiM honestly, life felt so small. And then I watched this fun show, and after catching up post-season 3, decided to check out this… fandom that everyone has been talking about. I literally had it on my to-do list one day (back when I actually tried to organise my life) to "Learn MLP style". Because as someone who spent his time trying to learn human and furry anatomy, and struggled with it, the cute cartoony style of MLP seemed, from a distance, like something that could be easily picked up.
Welp, that wasn't entirely true.

But still, the easily accessible style of ponies is what I think drew a lot of people to creating art for this community.
It's one of the things I most love about this community actually. People like myself, who were already artists before pony, found new inspiration, new motivations, and new opportunities for growth, both in the sense of skill and in the sense of community and career.
Whilst others see the creative, amazing works people are making and are inspired to become artists themselves. This way, the fandom has been the stepping stone for many people to become writers, musicians, sculptors, illustrators, game developers, and more.

So I felt like doing a piece showing how my art style has evolved over the years. I know this is something I've done before with Spirit Wind here, but he's a good target for some of my older works of him being so messy and a good example of my still developing skill at the time.

Spirit might have got his start totally backwards due to my inability to understand how to make a pony character, but I grew to love him X3

I've only been able to get this far with art thanks to the amazing friends I've made in the fandom over the years, who are like a huge family to me now. Being amongst this creative community is wonderful, and always has been. (you know, as long as you know the right places to hang out.)
So thank you all for the incredible support, and stay pony!
