Posting this early because of some schedule conflicts with the weekend.
A micro-comic [Trust Me-verse, feat. Ambus & Six] about longing. Also to make sure I had it in me to do this kind of art style for comics. The start of the next long-term comic begins next week! (-:

Funny, I still also sometimes find myself still thinking about Mindes.  I was never really satisfied with how his storyline was resolved in the original comic and would love to see some followup on the character someday.  I know it wasn't part of the story you were trying to tell in the original but I can't help but want to see him explored further.

We never really got closure on a few extremely dark loose ends for him, like his active participation and support for an online community committing some of the most horrific crimes imaginable.  He has demonstrated a willingness to act on his own darker impulses and has shown a level of awareness (and even a bit of revelry) for the wrongness of it.  He may try to make excuses and rationalizations to distance himself from the worst of it all, but his support and silence make him complicit and the the terrible implications of that subplot were never really explored.

To his credit, he was shown to be seeking help now, but I'd love to see more of his journey at some point if you'd ever consider revisiting it.

He's too broken and confused for me to consider him a genuinely evil character in spite of himself, and I find him fascinating for his flaws and the unchecked danger / instability he represents.

Sorry for the essay post; the <kidnapping children / torture / rape / murder community> subplot in the original comic affected me really badly and I just wanted to get it out of my system.

You're one of the most insightful artists I've seen around, keep up the great work.

I try not to write characters without any positive aspects shown about them because no human is truly 'evil'. That is, no human has nothing but negative aspects about them. I prefer not to have closure with many of my characters because it's not representative of what I've seen in the world... That being that the 'bad guy' doesn't get punished for their crimes or bad behavior. I think it would be too preachy for me to straight up show Mindes getting arrested, or in Tell Me More, jumping straight to Jonesy getting past all of the mental fuckery, or in Addiction, Reth getting FBI-open-up'ed. None of those people in my life that the characters are reflective of got in trouble for what they've done. It leaves the reader frustrated, just as I feel sometimes when thinking about what happened to me in the past, and how many people still ignore this shit today, ESPECIALLY in the furry fandom with regards to most of my stories. You could cut the hypocrisy with a knife. One of the other good things about leaving characters without closure is that sometimes I can come back and write side stories about it. Little one-off comics like this are an example. As I gain more experience through living and get more ideas, it will allow me to go back to old stories and see where I can tell interesting addons.
