He is well trained in hand to hand combat and he is very good with any melee weapon, his own kind allow him to use moves and skill than are mistaken by destruction or fire spells but it is easy to use that as an explanation than actually try to explain his innate powers.

If the fight became actually very difficult, he can always wear the golden Cloth as a next stage evolution; I based the armor on the Magnamon armor as concept but also mix up whit other medias…. And sadly, this armor will last not more than 30 minutes, after that the armor vanished in a blighting light explosion. Leaving Vincent Exhausted, hungry and back onto V-mon stage.
