An idea that got stuck in my head, demanding I make it a real idea, so what drawing skill I had went into it. I was annoyed at there being painting and singing and dancing and mimes and acting and every other art for pokemon, but none I could think of for writing. So I made my own! Beware my generally-alright drawing abilities!

Form 1: Spooklet, the Pamphlet Pokemon
Type: Ghost

Spooklets find discarded scraps of writing, failed drafts of papers, and pamphlets carelessly tossed aside and make them into their home. A furtive creature, it tends to hide within its house, working and reworking the ideas inside and dreaming of more complex stories. Sometimes it likes to hide in magazine racks, playing pranks on unsuspecting people. If you sleep with one in your house, it's rare you will remember your dreams, but they'll be perfectly transcribed for you on Spooklet's pages. Many attribute writer's block to an unhappy Spooklet living with them.

Form 2: Tomen, the Ancient Tome Pokemon
Type: Ghost
Subtype varieties: Normal, Fairy, Dark, and Psychic

Tomen are created either naturally when ancient books are left to collect dust on shelves or buried in forgotten ruins, or when a Spooklet gathers enough stories of its own. Generally they are friendly and secluded, keeping to themselves and their stories with, perhaps, a Sinistea or a Polteageist for a stalwart companion. They guard their homes fiercely from intruders, though they prefer not to engage in violence to ward creatures away. In libraries, it will hide among the books being cleaned and browsed, and if treated well, will help with cleaning and sorting. If treated poorly, more popular books may be torn to shreds, or messy readers will fail to leave when the building closes. These Pokemon enjoy reading to children, seemingly containing a never-ending amount of stories, with voices that anyone can understand regardless of language. But if someone interrupts the reading or injures one of the children, they have been known to disappear, with a hauntingly similar voice being added to a new character in their next storytelling.

Tomen varieties arise when a Spooklet evolves while gathering a certain amount of one type of story (or, in gameplay terms, if holding the corresponding book/page when they reach the level to evolve. Or possibly as a reaction to holding certain items). This reflects as an outward appearance of Tomen's "Reader" as well as the cover of the "Book" portion of the creature. The stories these Tomen tell and their dispositions vary due to what they find most fascinating, but they all have their strengths and weaknesses. (Stats would be the same, just type differences, kinda like Oricorio). They enjoy living with writers, and will gift them ideas if they are stuck in a rut. Often, their stories will also reflect the writing style of their trainer in those cases.

Just figured I'd throw this out there, thought it was fun, and October is the time for spooky ghost pokemon! Lemme know what you think about it <3
