Come float away with me.
Look who beamed onto my pourch.
You tried your hardest in practice.

You improved your pitch speed and accuracy.

You learned to throw a curve ball.

You threw a shutout till the last inning.

But most important you didn't give up and finished the game.

And I'm so proud of how much you've grown and how you played your heart out.

This game means so much for you, why it stings so much right now.

It's part of the game, and if you love it you'll take the hurt along with the joy.

Because when you love something you always endure and fight through the pain.

And that's when you win.

Painful and heartwarming all rolled up into one. It's always hard when you are dealt your first loss, especially at a very young age and when you've tried everything and you think you deserved to win. Collin will move past this... especially when he has a loving father as he does.

Damn, it's been a while since I read Atypical Family. Brings back the memories. Hope to see more of this and the cast (Collin, his father and mate, and his friends).

Need to get back to writing.

Gone on too long.

Yeah... too, too long. I think Collin and his friends would be teens or even full-fledged adults by now lol; although I would think you need to continue where you left off... finishing off his childhood years and onto his tweens.

Would be interested to see things once you hopefully get back into the series. That and I hope to see more pics like these in the future.

Awww, it's so nice to see Collin again. I love this <3

Your Daddy speaks wisely, little guy. Besides, the ice cream treat afterwards will taste just as nice whether you win the game or not ^_^

reminding me of when I played Tee ball as a little kid... and nearly knocked myself out with my own bat.

`swung too hard with too much follow and hit myself in the back of the head. Hurray for helmets.

This reminds me of what I have heard said;
No matter how fast you are, there is always one faster.
No matter how strong you are, there is always one stronger.
No matter how smart you are, there is always one smarter.
No matter how good at anything you are, there is always one better.
Since no one can claim to be the world's best, your best is your goal.

Hey kid... Hey coach, mind if I interrupt a moment?

I was just wondering if he'd sign the ball for me... After a game like that, I suspect it's going to be valuable.

Chin up, kiddo. That was only two points away from a perfect game, any pro would be proud of that performance.

Whenever I couldn't win a game, I'd just change my goal to inflict as much damage as possible. Of course, if you play the game just to have fun, then you'll always win.
