Yeah, this was pretty terrifying to do, but I kinda enjoy scenarios like that, for some reason?? Anyway, this is related to the Bomberman AU currently in the works called Bomber Forces. This might be the third or second story arc after the Rooey Forces arc.
The Gooey Rooeys are a race of slimy entities that take the form of various colorful Rooeys. They were created on accident when Dr. Olivia Ironside unintentionally converted the bones and muscles of her young subjects into the remaining compounds of Soul Slime, much to her own chagrin. For that reason, she dubbed them "Gooey Rooeys" to justify her error. Anyone who comes into contact with them - be it through physical contact with it in its normal form or by its remains - will be assimilated within its mass.
While the Soul Slime is less lethal than the Gooey Rooey itself, it is deemed dangerous to touch regardless.
