The tutorial loosely highlights how to create a fantasy-style weapon, namely an axe. Well, personally, when given the option, I've never been one to choose an axe as my weapon, so I took some key points from this tutorial, added in a few notes from the one other DeviantArt tutorial I participated in, "How to Draw Creature Wings", and I created a weapon I would most definitely choose in a fantasy scenario.
Maybe it's because I should have gone to sleep and I am completely tired, but let me tell you a little bit about this bow that I began to develop as I conceptualized the design. By some inexplicable means, one can summo-er, come into the possession of the "Demon Bow of Myotis", myotis being a type of bat. Yes, it is plainly obvious that this bow has bat wings, but they aren't just aesthetic -- well, kind of. I envisioned this demonic bow as having dynamic abilities. If you notice, the wings are not made of wood as is the rest of the bow, but rather the wood of the bow transitions and becomes the flesh and fur of the bat wings. The tips of the wings by the joint are the only thing not made of flesh though appear to be sharpened bone that can be used to slash and stab enemies at close range. Similar, the bow itself is adorned with iron spikes around the grip of the bow (indicated by the leather bracing) made to resemble fangs and blades at the tips of the bow -- again, should the wielder find themselves too close for comfort and need engage in close-quarters combat. Of course, being that the wings are that of a living... demon... bat-creature, the most unique feature (I think) of the Demon Bow of Myotis is that the wings fold and close when the bow is away and reopen when the bow is held and equipped. Also, I imagine anyone hit with this bow is affected with a drain-life or life-steal enchantment, healing the user. I didn't know what to do for an arrow, so this is like a Terraria bow: the effect works with any arrow and is tied to the bow itself.
