A fake movie poster just for fun. Mufasa CGI movie is in production and I'm sure they will go for a hyper realistic take again. This is probably how I would like the CGI style from the movies look more alike. I hope to see at least a good dynamic between Mufasa and Scar.

Honestly? I believe this would be the cheapest way to go; simply because computers can have fur rendering, fire rendering, water rendering right into the 3D animation programs themselves. While 3D isn't easy itself, it took over 30,000 separate drawings to complete the original 1994 Lion King movie, and each characters had multiple animators, one or so supervising animators and a few in between animators, concept artists, this is also when they had actual bands and orchestras come into recording studios, when it wasn't all digitally comprised. The animators and film directors and producers flew to Africa to study the animals in their natural habitat, had live animals come into the studio and had a plethora of artists do life drawings of the animals to get a feel for their personalities and anatomical traits... background artists, cell shading artists, special effects artists.... The stampede took 2 - 3 years to render and complete from start to finish just on it's own with the help of a 3D modeling program back then....
....But now, just checking online, I see that the budget for the 1994 film was actually a hell of a lot cheaper vs the newest film (2019 TLK), and I can't imagine how it was still cheaper to do? Hmm.

That's not how that works, it's a deduction not a tax credit. If you get 40 million written off a 100 milllion dollar movie your still 60 million in the red. You just lose less money then you would have lost. But you can't write off up to 100% or more of the expenses. The IRS is going to laugh in your face if you suggest somehow coming out ahead profit wise after the writeoff than before it.

This would be a great poster for a Pre-qual movie to the original lion king, better than we got with the 1.5 ^^; dun get me wrong I enjoyed the Timon and Pumba centric film, but... it wasn't actually a pre-qual. ^^;
