Hmmm...Aside the fact, that She looks amazing, and the art is very well made...

...Is she a fighter, or an assassin? I'd like to hear the answer, because of one tiny little detail: The sword has a guard. Practical? Favorite choice of design in bladed weapon? I am curious...If I'd have to guess, she's a fighter, rather then someone who does things quietly... Let's see your answer, as you know your OC best! :3

Former slave, trained as a fighter by a caring master from a young age before she was gifted her two wakizashi swords and freed. She earned money as a lone demon hunter until she earned enough to start her own small mercenary unit. An ability she has, to draw in energy from around her to augment and enhance every aspect of her body, allowed her to rapidly study and master various forms of combat and technology, as well as enhance her fighting ability, movement speed, and reflexes.

This is a character I've been rping with for around 20 years now, so a lot of development has gone into her, but this is just thr basis of her combat ability.

Okay, then I have no argument with the sword design. If it's used to fighting, then a guard is useful and validated. I just like my assassin shorts words without the guard, because they aren't need to guard against enemies, who are taken out by the first attack...and an OP skillful assassin can use the guardless (easy to carry around, and conceal as well as allows more agile wielding) sword for defense as well. But yeah, a fighter would be better off with the sword outfitted with hand guards!

Nice design!

Their original design didnt have guards, as she never directly blocks with the blades themselves and allows her more maneuverability. But she is much more of an up front fighter than an assassin of any kind.

Yeah, the no-guard swords are for either one-shots and finishing moves, but in rare cases the user is very skillful and even mastered this blade, and aside allowing them all kinds of hard agility moves with the blade, they are able to not use it for guarding but the more efficient deflecting move, which can flow into another form of attack, while the enemy's blade is pushed away. The idea is, to not let the blade take the force of the attack, but just use it and guide it away, while creating an opening and/or unbalance the opponent. I had a character myself in a past D&D campaign, who was such a blade master with high dexterity, that others called him Blade Dancer, as he could let lose of the blade and use it's centrifugal force to spin around his arm or even the neck, and return back to the hand or travel along her arms and neck the other hand. While the hands were free to do a non-attack quick action like a finger snap, or do a backflip, but at the end of the action the sword were kind of snake-moving back to his hand. His daytime job was a travelling knife juggler on town squares, while his real job was a traveling thief/rouge employed by the nation's guild of thieves. He always had a safe space to rest, and had access to equipment, so during his travels, he needed carry around less stuff. If he ever joined to a party, he contributed the traveling phases with hunting game with his shortbow, which he was decent, while his trap detection and stealth kills were useful in dungeon runs...and he was not a head turner of a guy, but he was good at disguises, and thus, he could "wear the face" of handsome men and charm ladies into his bed, if he ever wanted to have fun...he was an average lover tho...A really fun character, that I've retired ages ago.
