GENESMOM (from other room): "Quiet down in there, Gene!"
GENE (placating; to the water pet): "I'm sorry, ok---simmer down!"

GENESMOM (warning): "Gene, do I need to give your bare bottom a pat?"
GENE (trying not to panic): "It's not me, Mom!"
WTRPT (angry): PLUSH LIVES MATTER! PLUSH LIVES MATTER! PLUSH LIVES MATTER!..."
GENE (loudly, to the water pet): "It's you, you annoying thing!"
WTRPT (freaking out): "PLUSH RIGHTS ARE ANIMAL RIGHTS! PLUSH RIGHTS ARE ANIMAL RIGHTS!..."
GENESMOM (angry): "Boy, I know you didn't just say that to me---oh, you're getting more than a pat now!!"
GENE (terrified): "Eeep!"
GENE (as he's dragged off to his doom): "Why am I always the victim!?"
Of course, the water pet reverted to an innocent plush the moment Mom entered the bathroom. ^_^
Pencil...
The featured pencil is a checking pencil (writes red on one end, blue on the other) from China. The pencil is marked 'Five Stra', but I don't think it's a pencil company but is instead a reference to the Chinese flage.
I featured this pencil here because it is the same colors as the water pet. :3
