Here is the second page of my unsuccessful little contest comic :D Because four short pages highly limited the story, the world, and the characters I could put together (unfortunately, I still need to learn a lot about "compressing" things in comics... XP), I thought I should have only one basic, simple idea and concentrate on that. That's where the idea of eternal winter and frost came from, and that's what I built the whole thing on. And since the contest was aimed at children, I thought it was only natural that the protagonist should be a child :)

I know what you're talking about. I can't write a short story (although I did do it once) because I can't seem to do all my storytelling in less than 17,000 words.

Is there any chance you could provide a link to the contest and / or the book of stories chosen?
I'd love to see what got accepted and see why yours might not have cause I think the judges
chose poorly just from these two pages.

Sorry, I can't help you with that. Even I don't know anything about it aside from that my comic wasn't chosen. I don't think you'll be able to check the rest of the entries; I think they'll just release a book with the winners, and that's all.
