There is a Halloween equivalent on the Neon City. Most citizens don't really know where it came from, but they sure do enjoy it. The buildings turn from their clear white to an ominous dark, the glistening blue neon lights turn red, the whole city seems to morph into something worthy of the season.
What happens when our bonds are broken?
what when our precious unity is compromised?
what if Hyperion forsakes us?
Terrifying ideas, truly.

The Kitsune family didn't go out this year though, this time they decided to invite friends over and have a nice party. Everyone loves the get togethers at the Kitsune's unnecessarily fancy home.
The city glowed red in the distance, but at home it was all laughs and fun, with some creative costumes to go with it. Music, snacks, and carelessness.

Axel went was his hands in the nearest of the 6 bathrooms.  He looked in the mirror, smiled, proud of his looks, and headed out. He looked at all of the friends having fun in the social room, it was always a heartwarming sight. But something was missing. He looked around, then went tap Kayla's shoulder.

"Hey Kay, where's Ems?"

Kayla's ear flicked, she looked around.

"Huh, I'm not sure... What's up, yah need something?"

Axel shook his head.

"I just haven't seen her in a while, thought it was a bit odd..."

Kayla pulled out her personal device  from her back pocket.  A screen materialized in front of her, he tapped around and tried to open the Electric Heart control application. She tilted her head.

"Huh... odd, says 'signal lost', look"

She flicked the little screen over so it was closer to Axel, he looked at it with mild concern. Suddenly, all the lights started flickering, before fading completely. A bunch of light groans were heard, so were some giggles. Kayla and Axel looked around, power outages haven't been anything but a myth for a while.
Kayla shook his head and readjusted her onesie costume, a head with googly eyes rested on top of her hood, and a row of spikes lined all her back; a mythical beast from a foreign culture.

"Alright, alright, who's the prankster."

Everyone looked at each other, making their own headcounts, everyone was there. A little snep girl raised her hand, and spoke with her signature accent.

"Isn't Emmie connected to the house's grid?"

Kay and Axel looked at each other, everything fell silent. In the silence, heavy steps could be heard. Intermittent pulls and pushes of hydraulic systems echoing in the distance. Everyone turned to look, a certain snep with a big smile and sparks in her eyes, the rest, mildly unnerved. At the very end of a now pitch black hallway, a humanoid figure stumbled. Contorted arms, twisted legs, it shook in place and twitched in unnatural ways.

"Woooooooooooa that's cool! Didn't know she had those settings!"
Mirai looked over at Kayla, whom in turn looked at her.

"I didn't do this"

The genuine confusion in Kayla's face proved that she was either a great actress, or being fully honest. The twitching figure at the end of the hallway began walking twistedly towards  the group, picking up speed. everyone braced, April was excited as one can be. No one was too scared, it was way too big of a coincidence that this was happening on the season of scares. One of the newer friends to the group and Axel's distant relative, Sparks crossed her arms.

"This is cool and all, but come on, it's very obviously a pr---"

Her sentence was interrupted by the twisted E.M.O, as she lunged towards the girl and pinned her down in the ground, The red panda girl squealed and began struggling, but the machine reached down quickly and bit her beck, pinning her. Everyone started screaming, Angel just sat and stared, gently petting Claymore.
The corrupted machine held the girl by her neck and quickly dragged her into the darkness, crawling backwards on her fours.

"The hell is going on?!"

Axel tensed up, Kayla just gulped and looked. After a couple seconds, a metallic claw hand gripped the wall corner, and E.M.O came back out of the hallway, blood staining her simulated fur, dripping from her permanently open mouth.  Words came out of her, though her mouth never moved.

It spoke in distorted, barely distinguishable words. Everyone ran and hid in different places all throughout the house, though the flickering lights and pitch black corridors made it difficult to do without accidentally bumping into objects and friends alike.

April and Frost hid together under a bed. The boy was shivering, gulping, trying his best to reassure himself that it was all planned. Heavy steps, followed by robotic clicks and grinds announced that their predator had arrived to the room they were in. A flickering blue light reflected on the floors as it walked, wheezing.

"y-y-you know t-this is a p-prank...right?!"

He whispered to the snep girl, though he struggled to believe his words, and just wanted some reassurance.

"Of course it is you goofball, how do you think th----"

Frost let out a girly squeal, as his friend was suddenly grabbed by the ankle  and forcefully dragged from under the bed, then lifted up. She laughed squealed and tried to kick E.M.O, but it was no use. Suddenly and with a loud crack, a stream of blood began dripping, and April's body seemed to go completely limp, with a faint "bweaaagh" that anyone but Frost could've told was completely fake.

He gasped and covered his mouth, beginning to shake, a purple glow began to emanate from the markings on his body. He shook his head, and suddenly, full of determination and through a rush of adrenaline, he jumped from under the bed, grabbing the android by it's neck and pinning it to the ground. His wings extended, the purple light becoming stronger, he held the struggling fiend down tightly with all his strength. He opened his mouth wide right in front of the broken robot's face, a purple light shinning inside his throat and getting stronger and stronger.
Swiftly, the robot took back it's familiar, cute, childish form, and a small snep tackled Frost, hugging him.

"wait! I'm ok, I'm ok!"

The markings on his body seemed to fade out, he looked confused. the light returned to the house, and the blood splattered on the floor faded into blue nanomesh drones.

"w-wh...wha...uh..."

Everyone stood up, April giggled. Frost took a sigh of relief.

"Hyperion and the electric hearts wish you a very spooky season~"

E.M.O stood up and smiled kindly. The group all gathered together at the social room again, everyone was laughing, talking about the experience. Frost was a bit disappointed.

"um.. Kayla...so, you did this?"

He asked, tilting his head and looking away. Kayla shook her head.

"Not really...maybe it was Hyper"

Axel tilted his head, pondering.

"Hm...can they do that though? seems pretty dangerous to pull something like that off with no warning"

As Axel finished his sentence, E.m.o spoke

"Hyper would ask for your express consent, this was willingly and knowingly done by an admin user"

Kayla and Axel looked at each other, then almost in unison turned to look at a certain blue eyed girl, who sat on the carpet floor holding a little frog. Angel turned and looked up at them with her lazy eyes, and let out a little smile. Axel shook his head and put a palm on his face with a smile, Frost chuckled, and decided not to mention he almost blew a giant hole on Kay's house.

"i-it...it was good"

He let out a soft, genuine smile.

Late, but this is my Halloween drawing! hehe.
Gotta say, I had the idea of a glitchy Electric heart for a while, but it wasn't till I was inspired by the recent FNAF movie that I decided to actually draw it. Imagine all the things you can do, see, and show with that technology, just wonderful stuff.
