Not counting the touchups I’ve done to it, even now for this version I am currently uploading. If you’ve actually read these and are wondering why most, if not, all of the visualizer links say “outdated version”, that’s why – since those videos went up, I’ve gone and remastered them or even tweaked them completely, so those versions will sound different. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For one reason or another, I would go back to this song and edit the remix to make it better, add to it, subtract to it, remaster it – many reasons! Originally, like, the first iteration of this remix, I just had the original Hamsterdance song stuck in my head… like, for a long time. I would just randomly think about and sing it out loud. It was weird. Do you know that Family Guy joke where Chris has “Hamsterdance Tourette’s Syndrome”? That’s what it felt like… but not as dramatic, of course. The ONLY way I could think to get it out of my head was to remix it. So, I did just that. At the time, however, some people weren’t as happy as I was with how the song sounded, so for some stupid reason, I decided to go back and change it to their liking. Well, funnily enough, I was no longer happy with how that version sounded, so I changed it back to how I had it while adding some more changes to it. After no longer worrying about what other people think of my music and rather focusing on what I think of my music, I revisited the song yet again after learning a lot more about making music and using samples in music and made it overall cleaner. Finally, this version, still largely based on the previous version, just changes the mix slightly so that everything is better balanced.
So, yeah, this song has been through its trials.
