When I make music, I like experimenting with different production methods. I’ll experiment on songs I've already completed; I’ll experiment with ideas I've written down; in this case, I'll mess around with random audio/vocal clips/samples I have and just experiment with it. This project spawned from a combination of experiments. The first of which, and the primary reason for this experiment, was the vocals. There are many videos on YouTube explaining the various ways you can use audio samples, such as vocals, in a song or remix — something about pushing and pulling, I don’t know, that’s why I experiment because I retain near to nothing from tutorials. For Fluttershy singing her song "Hush Now, Quiet Now", I figured out what key the song was in, as I usually do first, and copied the melody onto its own instrument to better experiment with it. Now, instead of making the song based on the key that the melody is in, I decided to make the song based on its relative minor scale — if you would like more information as to what that means, let me know! I’m always happy to share my basic music theory knowledge with people (that way it won’t go to waste).
Wanting to maintain focus on experimenting with this melodic concept, I didn't want to focus too much on ancillary aspects, like drums, so I used some drum loops. Personally, I don't like using loops. There’s nothing wrong with using them, especially when there are countless website that provide loops and samples for free, I just don’t like using them, personally — it feels cheaty to me. For this song, however, I dropped some loops in to focus on the melodic aspects of the song and kinda just kept it there. I did it again with the riddim bass line at the end just to fill in the extra space, and, well, in the end, this isn't necessarily a full song, just the result of my experimentations, but I liked the final product and decided to share this.
