Finally got this in motion, and I'm embarrassed to admit it took me way longer than it should have... panels 2 and 3 turned out OK, though I'm not totally happy with how the first panel looks. But eh, the story needs to go on! This is the first time I've ever drawn Mel & Cae from behind, so maybe that's why I'm not satisfied with panel no. 1. Oh well.
And don't worry, there's more naughty art on the way too I promise, you know I like to play on both sides of the safe-or-not for work fence, ha ;P
At any rate, this is a VERY important story piece to me, so here goes. The full dialogue and text below:
THE WHOLESOME READ:
Returning from the cafeteria after a chatty and laughter-filled lunch hour with her usual gal friend crowd (the 'girls-only table') on what seemed like any other day, Melecia noticed the neatly folded little note left behind by Caedyn inside her classroom desk. It's a small, "open-front" school desk much like those seen in many grade schools. The note was just barely visible, but she noticed it.
Unfolding the lined paper, Melecia reads Caedyn's penciled note and presumes he just wanted to talk about either some personal trouble he was having, or to discuss hanging out next weekend. That would be presuming their parents approved, which so far they have on the several play-dates they've had.
For a brief moment she thought something different might be up, but then dismissed that theory and figured Caedyn probably just had a question of the latter kind.
The school bell rings and the after-lunch recess period commences. She heads out the backdoor of the school amongst the droves of other students of so many different species. Her friends and all the other students go to fetch sports balls and find their own fun for recess. A few of her besties went off to play hopscotch and jump-rope.
Mel sees Caedyn sitting all alone on one of the benches near the paved playground path, and heads over without any inkling of Caedyn's true question.
Seeing Caedyn by himself and sitting down next to him, she initially worried he might be sad or something. But as he looked up in relief that she came by to meet with him, she saw he had a slight smile. Still, he was nervous as she sat down.
"Hey Caedyn, I saw your note in my desk. What's up? Is everything OK?"
"Yeah..."
So Melecia, there's somethin' I wanted to tell you... or I mean, ask you..."
She gave him her undivided attention. Despite her bubbly and chatty personality, Melecia can also be a really good listener too, when she senses something might be 'off' with a friend.
Caedyn continued...
"Melecia, since my mama and papa moved us here, I wuz worried I wouldn’t make any friends here, until I met you. I didn't have a lot of friends in my old town either. Thanks for always bein’ nice ta me and everyone, and for bein’ my friend too. I really like you... a lot"
"Aww, thanks Caedyn! I like you a lot too..."
"Really? You really mean that?" He asks, beginning to blush.
"Yeah! I mean, you’re not like the other boys with their actin’ kinda silly sometimes, treatin’ my girl friends mean, fightin' and pretendin’ to be so tuff' all the times... I can tell you’ve got a good heart Caedyn. I'm glad we're friends, and it's always fun hangin' out with you!"
Caedyn hesitated for a second. Now would be the make-or-break moment. He gulped and let out:
"n' I think you're pretty, too…"
Now she suspected something was up. Melecia tilted her head and raised her green-dyed eyebrows in an expression of both flattery and interest at what he'd say next. She wasn't put off, but rather flattered and quite surprised that Caedyn (who she knows is shy) would be brave enough to share his inner feelings like that.
Processing all those compliments deep down with silent appreciation (especially that last one) Melecia begins to blush too.
Caedyn was turning rosy with passion. He felt the butterflies coming on, and his heart was beating fast. Mel was getting quite curious by what he might say next.
Darn it, Caedyn was going to say something next, but forgot a few of his memorized lines! So he just skipped it and got straight to the point.
Noticing Mel's hand on the bench, Caedyn places his left hand on her right hand, and asks a big question!
"Melecia…"
He pauses for a few seconds, looks aside with a smile, and gulps again...
"Would you wanna be my girlfriend?"
Caedyn’s heart was racing. He feels a warmth and wholeness that he’s never quite felt before.
He waited for her reply. Every second felt like an eternity.
What will she say?! CLIFFHANGER!

I think Mel herself was long waiting for him to ask, and had he waited any longer, she probably would have asked him herself, don't you think?
