If that happened to me, my instincts would be to freeze, pull my arms in front of my chest, ball up (not my fists), and accept the hug but not reciprocate. The biggest reason I wouldn't reciprocate is that I'm not a hugger. Of course, having lost my mother a year ago and not giving her many hugs over my life, I regret not being a hugger. But, you have to live with your life decisions no matter what they are.
