Panel 83: Val on a desk in her dorm crying with crumpled up papers everywhere. Her dorm has yellowish tan painted walls. There is a line of tree themed wallpaper near the ceiling.
Caption: I wasn’t handling it well either. I almost dropped out of the academy.

Panel 84: Zyn holding Val’s arm and pulling her towards the synth workshop. Val has a close mouthed look of confusion, wearing a white turtleneck sweater and a pink skirt. Zyn has a closed eye, ambiguous expression on their face. They have goggles on their forehead, a green vest and skirt combo with a yellow waist sash, tan sleeves and silver rings on their shoulders. They are moving with determination. Part of them also does not want to begin working on their passions again, but they are doing so anyway.
Caption: One day, when I was visiting home, Nony took me by the paw.

Panel 85: Zyn and Val, working on synth crystal power core. They are both wearing goggles and wearing white plastic, sterile lab gear.
Caption: We started working on their personal synths again.
Zyn: Mommy's in a creche somewhere. They probably need more caretakers there. Let’s build those caretakers for her, and for all the other parents who had to leave their families behind. We have the skills, they have the need.

Panel 86: Zyn and Val, on her graduation day, certificate in hand. A proud, smiling Zyn is patting Val’s shoulder. Val is in a blue graduation gown with a yellow tassel.
Caption: I rededicated myself to my passion, and managed to earn my artificer’s certificate! I think we started finally healing…

Panel 87: Val, in sterile plastic laboratory jumpsuit with a yellow sash and goggles over her eyes is pulling a switch to activate a new caretaker synth she has constructed, Gunhildr. Val has a confident smirk on her face. Gunhildr is a female St. Bernard with blond short hair and a severe expression on her face. She is in a tube with bits of technology atop it. The tube is arcing energy into her, somewhat reminiscent of Mega Man stuff.
Caption: Years passed, and I became a pretty great artificer.

Panel 88: Gunhildr holding Val over her shoulder as she checks Val’s diaper, Val blushing. They are presumably in Val’s bedroom. The walls are pink and there is a strip of log themed wallpaper.
Caption: I brought my own caretaker synth, Gunhildr, into the world. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
