Character Sheet for Nylin
Character Description
Nylin is a scrawny and frail young lavaren girl. A species unique to my setting, while they have animal-like traits (ears, tail, fur) they're not based on specific animals.
Personality
Nylin is incredibly timid and traumatized. She finds interacting with people she's unfamiliar to be very difficult.

As I had mentioned Nylin is a Lavaren my world's "animal people" race, (I already loredumped about them in the post I'm replying to)
Her family is from just south of mountains that border the nation that the story takes place in. While her mother was pregnant with her, there was a lot of turmoil and infighting between Lavaren clans in the region so her father had her mother flee to the south to secure the safety of her and his unborn child.
The journey was harsh, her mother had to rely heavily on her magical prowess to keep herself alive. However this only took more of a toll on her. Eventually, a couple weeks before her baby was due, she came upon another Lavaren settlement that took her in. A young couple who worked the village trading post let her stay with them. She knew that she was due in only a couple weeks, however the stress from the long journey caused her to go into labor prematurely.
Thus Nylin was brought into the world, though everyone present knew that she needed extra care. Unfortunately, her mother's health which had already been poor started to take a turn for the worse, it became abundantly clear that she wouldn't last to be able to watch her new child. The family that kindly took her in understood this, and decided to take Nylin in ad their own. They were having trouble having their own child after all.
Nylin was never healthy, several times during her childhood it seemed as though she wouldn't make it. But she always pulled through. Still being sickly and frail did a number on Nylin’s social life. Only ever really giving her the opportunity to talk to the local healer and her son, who became Nylin’s only close friend. Even as she grew and got a bit healthier the other children in the village saw her as strange, she looked different and couldn't really play the same as them because of her frailness. Though she ended up wanting to mostly keep to herself and her family anyways.
Later on a human scholar came to visit her village. Human traders often visited the village briefly to barter, however this man was different, what he sought wasn't something material. Nylin took a bit of interest in him, so he decided to teach her a little bit about the world outside her village as well as improving her reading and mathematic skills. Something her parents started to teach her as essentials to their profession.
Eventually her had to leave. Giving Nylin dreams about being able to leave her village and go and see the wonders of the world.
However, it came much sooner than expected. Another Lavaren clan came to her village, demanding the subjugation of its people. Nylins Father stood up to fight back only to be shot dead. Panic issued as they began to take their demands by force.
When the dust settled everyone was either captured or dead. Nylin could barely comprehend what happened. Part of her thought she fainted (which she's prone to doing) and that it was all some nightmare. But it quickly became apparent that it wasn't.
A few hellish years later that I'm not feeling like describing here at the moment, we find ourselves at the start of the story.

Body
Nylin is small and frail, she has fur covering most of her body (about everywhere body hair is on humans.) Her fur and hair change based on the season, being white in the winter and brown in the summer. However her fur has a dark striped pattern on her back, which is more visible in the winter.
Clothing
Nylin enjoys long, thin clothing, her fur makes her get hot quite easily but she dow try to keep covered more often than not.
Accessories
Nylin has a broach that she keeps with her that she accidentally stole from one of her friends.
