Asked over nine years ago. Still going to reply though. ^.^

Today, it not matter what was used back then to make such. For such can be made, and better, in Blender now.

2.8 was quite the change from 2.7. So much so, many said it should have just been called Blender 3.0, not 2.8.

But Blender 3.0 and higher is out now. Though it is built off of what 2.8 was, it's greatly improved since 2.8. In many ways.

Also, seeing it is free, as it always has been, you can try it yourself at the low low cost of absolute $0.

If you don't have it already, and if you do want to be making anything like this yourself someday, then modern Blender 3.0 is your ticket. All it will cost you is a download, along with the time and effort to learn it.

I know that with blender you can do many things, one day I will learn to use blender and I will update all my characters in 3D.

For a long time I was not convinced between Blender and Zbrush, but I think that for what I want Blender is the best for me.

I like to think of Blender as like a Hummer, and ZBrush as like a formula one car. Blender can do a lot of things. Try to make ZBrush try to do all that Blender can do, and you will find ZBrush lacking, in may ways. But Pit Blender against what ZBrush was made to do, and ZBrush will leave Blender eating dust.

With that said, Blender is not bad for sculpting. And it can help you do it in ways ZBrush can't. Such as being able to work in more than one view port at once.

If you want to get to know Blender basics, fairly fast, you should see this. It's a real great starter.

If you wish to see what sculpting in Blender can be like, you could view a few vids by RoseRedTiger. Is fantastic to watch.

And if you want some no BS teachings for Blender, view the vids by Royal Skies. You will not go wrong. Is no BS, I swear.

Also see, that for only about 6 more days, Royal Skies is giving away some cool models. Act now, or you miss out.

Do you know about blender?

I only know Blender well enough to stop paying for and learning to use LightWave 3D. LW 3D being what I had used to make most of my past posted 3D art with. For I have been keeping tabs on Blender's development, since the announcement of 2.8.

Have also gotten many paid for add on for Blender, such as Hard Ops / Boxcutter Ultimate Bundle, SPEEDSCULPT, and Auto-Rig Pro just to name a few. All of them I still need to learn to use. I am no pro user, I just happen to have some pro tools.

If I ever get around to it, I may also manage to finish a simple project on it, like the Kobold I started, found in my scraps, along with other such long ago started, but never finished projects.
