Crystal stepped through the haze that separated the two time streams from one another and checked herself. All appeared normal, which was a relief. She looked at the group to check the others. First and foremost her mate, Magus. He looked human, although well built and extremely handsome, but was actually the last of an ancient race known as the bindari. All was well with him so she checked the others silently. Navi, the annoying tech loving neko, seemed alright. Hopefully she would stay quiet. Riki Maru, the protoss who normal led the group seemed well. Being a medic he was checking to make sure everyone was alright. The last two she had skipped over after noticing what looked like a few pools of water. A few hung in the air like mirrors, others on the ground as if pretending to be water. Looking over to Magus, their current leader, Crystal spoke up.
"Are those the time pools you warned us about?"
Magus looked up from calculating things on his PDA. "Yes. Don’t touch them, or all kinds of bad things can happen to you. Physically and psionically.” He resumed his calculations as she when to peer into them out of pure feline curiosity. Most of the others wouldn’t, they feared the risk too much. In each pool she saw something different and important in time. None really caught her attention but two. The first was simply silent space where nothing left existed. This gave cause to a small amount of worry she brushed aside, reminding herself that it was a possibility only, and one she wouldn’t let come to pass if she could help it.
The last pool however, filled her with a spiral of mixed emotions. Within it she saw a young male kajit who bore strong resemblance to her and Magus,. He was tall, handsome, and wore Magus’ symbolic cape on his shoulder and Crystals necklace upon his breast. His dark blue eyes shone with pure fury, the likes she had only ever seen in herself… the likes that only were seen when range could no longer be held back within herself. He was walking on a strange planet she did not recognize, but took her only a few moments to figure out. Odd humanoid creatures, grotesquely fuzzed with buglike symbiots, told her immediately that this man was on the home world of the invasion force that was plotting the galaxies destruction. She watched as he mercilessly walked through their forces, sweeping them aside with such psychic abilities that made even Magus look weak. He killed all of them in a bloodrage, making sure no one would escape. Not even the children and infants were spared.
Crystal froze , even her breathing stopped. If this was indeed her future child only one thing could explain the fury and hatred she saw emanating from him. The invasion had managed not only to kill Crystal but even Magus. What she saw was her child taking revenge on those who had stolen his family from him, and nothing was able to stop him. Not even one of the most feared races in the universe..
Finally she managed to look away and catch her breath. She was amazed, but also worried. Glad but also unsure. If this was indeed one of the possible futures, she would have to prepare for it just in case…
Crystal noticed she had fallen behind a bit and quickly caught up. She would have to tell Magus of this later…
