Video game testers tend to have to do the same thing over and over again, to see if there is a glitch. Its kinda like hitting your head on the wall. Except you have to make sure the wall doesn't explode for some random reason. Unless it is supposed to.

I actually do this exact thing all the time. I'll work on commissions 8 hours in a day and then immediately go off and draw for myself to relax. It's a totally different feeling.
With game testers I can actually tell you from experience that this is true. Most game testers don't get to choose the games they're testing, and they're playing unpolished, glitchy, buggy versions. Then they have to play the same small segment of the game over and over and over again to try and recreate the bugs and glitches that occur so they can properly document them. It actually kind of sucks because it ruins a lot of games for them. xD

I think the worst part is when you spend that long drawing and then you wanna draw to relax but you find yourself completely dry of any creative energy or ideas. *sob* happens to me all the time lately

It's less boring when you're the one WRITING the game, but it still gets really dull and repetitive after a while. Every hour or so I play a few quick rounds of minesweeper to break the monotony, personally.
