Something Fucky is Going On

You can see the extent of the conversation here; the blacked out portion is the user's account, as they replied there.

Now, if you look at the Inkbunny Philosophy, you'll see the following section, which he refers to;

" Posting submissions that contain portions of other artists' work (such as using them for backgrounds or other components) is allowed only if you have received their permission to do so. The works you create using portions of other artists' work must be sufficiently unique to be considered a new creation.

Posting re-colors or shading of other artists' work is allowed if they have given permission directly to you, and when it is clear you put in significant effort to change or enhance that work. Simply adjusting hue and color balance values, or other superficial changes are not sufficient.

It is not using the work, however; it is using a character of the work. And, legally speaking, there is no distinction between the claims the owners of My Little Pony, Pokemon, Tony the Tiger, etc, have to their works, and no permission is granted to any of the users who make characters from these series' as artwork. The fact that the maker of Pepe has his knickers in a twist is immaterial; either they are all allowed, or none are allowed, based on this rule.

But, I wish to follow the rules, even if they're being arbitrarily and politically enforced; so, I've made a distinct character from Pepe. Meet the Kekian, my own original race of characters. More info on the submission!

Please note that it is marked (im)mature for reasons of cartoon poop.

I guess then you just have to start drawing Gropyr or whatever he is called.

Either that, or be a parody, as parody is legally exempt from such things. Or, just call him OdOd, done. Parody complete.

But that is utterly insane.
