So, the local creek went from two feet deep to twenty six feet deep in the span of twelve hours, earlier this week. Thankfully, we're living up on a hill, so we're mostly safe from the flooding that's screwing up a lot of Missouri at this point. The main problem we're having at this point is thanks to the former owners of the house we moved into last year. They decided to build a wrap around flowerbed around the front and side of the house to cover the basement a bit more.... So the rain went into the flowerbed, then couldn't escape through the sealed wall of the flowerbed and instead began soaking into the basement through the concrete.
So, while we didn't get waist deep water and despair, we did get two inches of standing water on the carpeted concrete floor of the basement, which is also my brother's bedroom and.... his tech workshop with all of the computers and electronics...
I'm gonna have to reopen writing commissions to make some cash to help pay for replacements and cleaning and another dehumidifier... and probably groceries for a few weeks, since my brother is having a panic attack pretty much daily.
That's a major pain in my ass.
Commission Details!
I generally write for 1 cent per word with a 1000 word minimum to my stories, though I'll make an exception if I like the idea enough for just a quick little blurb.
I'm really open to most kinks, though Scat and excessive dialogue will require an extra $5.
Half payment is due up front, then half upon completion.
I'm perfectly fine with making edits as long as I don't have to rewrite the whole story.
Lastly, if I really enjoy working on something, I may end up writing more than agreed upon for free.... But don't get your hopes up too high. I will be putting a limit of 10000 words, so I won't burn myself to a crisp trying to keep up.
