GDQ, Projects, Replies, How do I slow down??

by
Welcome to all the folks from FurAffinity too! nvn It's been nice seeing familiar faces pop up here.

A busy birdy as ever (still a hamster too~!)

GDQ (Games Done Quick - the speedrunning marathon) starts again this week. nvn But, since Twitch doesn't let us host, last time a group of friends and I just watched it together with Discord and that worked out best. ovo So, even if it's a bit less public now, it's still a really fun event, and here a month early too. In the middle of Zelda month? Gosh... er, the month's nearly over already?? @v@; Well, I'll be doing both!

Art Projects:

Speaking of Zelda, I have so many art ideas I want to draw from the new game! But gosh, I'm realizing how slow I am with art, and how busy I usually am too... I could spend all evening drawing Zelda stuff, or playing it... hopefully in the next month or two I'll draw out everything I wish from it. nvn

I still have one big commission coming out soon I'll be posting! I've been working on it since... February? After that I definitely need a little break as I figure out how to manage time better... I have so many projects I haven't gotten to... even a lot of stories I've written but haven't posted! I meant to take off May to just focus on Zelda but I'm still not caught up on everything... so maybe next month I'll actually take a break?

I did want to take more commissions on here for fun simple nudes at the start of the year, but I just got too busy to ever start that. úvù Maybe that'll have to wait until August if I actually do it...

I hope to post story continuations of things I said I was going to!
I never quite finished posting things like Boxer Beats or Animal Fantasy Friends either... but I plan to post and finish everything that I start~!

---

Comments / Replies! I also want to make more time to reply to everyone's comments. óvò I used to be a lot better at it... I love replying to folks and chatting about each piece. nvn I'm much more likely to comment someone's art when I know they'll reply to it too. I never thought I'd be one of those people who are too busy to write back... but gosh, why make and share art if you don't take the time to enjoy the feedback? ovo I read just about every comment, but I want to make time to properly thanks and chitchat in the replies with everyone. nvn

I haven't written a journal this long in years, oops, sorry!
The overall theme seems to be How do I slow down??
There's always so much I want to do, but I only have a few hours each evening, and a busy/distracting social life. nvn; Making time for friends, games, art, writing, commissions... not to mention a lot of IRL things I'm not giving myself enough time for, is rather difficult. óvò
I know I'm always making art, posting things, writing, etc. and still asking myself why I'm not getting more things done, but, I do feel like I need to find a way to slow down or be more responsible with my time. nvn I'm going to try and figure that out. So, if anybirdy read this far and has advice, I still have my big hamster ears listening! ;3

Whaaaaat GDQ already???? omg you're the perfect reminder, I wasn't expecting this already

Anyways also to your other main topics...if you need a break take it. It shouldn't be expected that you're active 100% for everything and if it feels stressful it's not a shame to just focus on what you really want to do :3

Days are short and there's always so much on the list you want to do but there are also lot's of distractions

If you ever don't reply to a comment of mine for example I won't take it negative and rather have the cute ham/owl enjoying his time for being such a sweetheart all the time

I'm really impressed how you manage to do so much stuff and it still feels like for you it's not enough :o

I admire that you have so much energy to do all this stuff. You're a good hard working person. But sometimes it's good to take breaks and rest.

Such a busy owl! I totally get what you mean, I also have a pretty busy life juggling my irl life, art, and online socializing. I think I have to make sacrifices in small ways. With online stuff I have to stop checking every channels and get caught up with what friends are posting in the art channels every other day. Or I have to combine art while being in a VC to stay present. But sometimes thats too distracting. When friends are streaming thats better since I dont have to participate, I just zone out and keep drawing. So I guess I would suggest always take the route where you can do two things at once or just having to be a little less present in areas. Once your plate is cleared up you can maybe make sure it's not as full as it was again.
