(irl warning) Everything broke this last week

My HVAC leached out all its coolant and had to be replaced, someone backed into my car and left the scene and broke my bumper/grill, my dad ended up in the ER from a trip down the stairs and broke a few bones, the neighbors started getting water coming out of their light fixtures because there was a leak in my bathtub, one of the toilets had a valve leak which got worse, and just today it seems like the defrost heater on my fridge also broke and a wall of ice built up on the back wall.

Why is everything breaking at once  :(

I'm sorry to hear that Bill, stay strong! Unfortunately randomness sometimes means coincidences such as this, but the same goes for the positive!

Also seriously hope your dad is alright~

he says he'll be okay eventually (he'll need physical training and maybe surgery for the knee), but the other day I saw him having to use a mobility scooter in the hardware store for the first time and it made me realize he's starting to get old and that was kinda depressing.  It's clear that his spirit wants to do things his body can't handle right now, so at least he still has that.

That's practically every month for me.
Not precisely that stuff, but yeah, things seem okay for a bit, start to make progress on stuff then many of; storm damage & outages, leaking plumbing, AC/heat failure, monitor/UPS/power supply/HDD/removable drive failure, stairs break, door stops shutting, fridge dies, smash foot, mower fails, important tools go missing awhile, etc.
Still using an ancient PC because newer ones keep getting damaged too easily(likely humidity sensitive & cant withstand crappy rural power grids)

Oh crap. That is an unfortunate string of events. I hope you get through quickly.

trying to fix one thing at a time.  I'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief once most of it is taken care of...

Your dad is priority #1 so make sure he's ok.
Everything else can get fixed or replaced abit with a bit of $ and time.
Take care and stay safe and here are some positive vibes.

When it rains, it pours :/

Family comes first, hope your dad is ok! Everything else can be fixed, with time and prioritizing

I'm not sure what's better.

Having stuff breaking in one short timespan like this or have something broken which requires urgent addressing each week.

Hello, thanks for asking.  These issues are resolved now, although I'm now contending with a health issue which i hope will go away soon @w@
