Some AI works kinda look similar to your shading style. Probably a honest mistake.

One that's likely to get rather common as well, since AI comes in many possible styles and the last iterations are controllable enough that in principle it can look like almost anything.

Yes exactly! The shading style indeed has some similarity with the "classic" style of generators based on the Novel-AI leak.

Don't let this drag you down though!

If in doubt, i just use one of the AI detector sites. You can just put the picture on and get an estimate if its AI made or not and this one cant get more than 2% probability.

Least that could be said, it's certainly not one of your regular followers, clearly. We do know you since the time.
This is exactly the kind of drawback I have in mind about this system - a chance it's still only as suggestion!!

Makes me worry how much of your art is in the AI generators' 'learning' database. I've often seen a lot that reminds me of your style, and that is a little... disconcerting if you haven't explicitly allowed it yourself.

I don't follow the AI scene so I haven't seen any that I personally believe to look like my own art. Nor have I been approached about allowing my art to be used in AI creation. Never thought my art was good enough to warrant any interest in AI art creation.

Don't sell yourself short, your work is excellent!

You won’t ever be approached for permission to add your artwork to the mix, it’s probably already long since been added, and that’s part of the problem.

The silver lining right now I suppose is that the algorithms are being used so furiously that they’re starting to intake their own output, which has been degrading the quality of many of the more popular topics faster than most expected. >3<

Likely due to AI not being able to do solid linework, so it does “soft” pictures, which happens to be your style too. Artists like you are most afftected by AI generators imo. :/

My cartoony-outline ass is safe (for now.)

With the way I do art now, going back to doing lined art would be more work than continuing to go line-less. Otherwise I would consider doing more art using lines. I find that going from the initial sketch to the coloring process, I lose some of the original charm the sketch had. So unless you have a specific desire to go line-less, I'd keep doing what you're doing.

Oh I getcha, and no worries here I love my style. :3

But yeah yours is good too, i’m just so reliant on outlines lol

It's the hooves, I recon. Someone noted that the feet aren't shaped like a normal humans, and rather than make the connection that deer may have differently-shaped feet, they immediately thought, "That must be AI!"

...That's kind of a joke.

You did an amazing job at coloring that one and that confused some ppl I think?

i think its the smoothness of it

Just ignore it also you can remove tag suggestions as well.

The machines are getting good at a few styles, and lineless smooth shading happens to be one of them.

But the tag suggestion says more about that asshole's absence of tact (and the jawdropping pace of these pornography engines) than it says about your art. At some point 'this looks generated!' will mean 'it seems like you have a solid grasp of composition and pursued some form of realism.'

I've had a novel coloring-assistance tool on my to-do list for about a decade. For each white pixel, it finds the distance to dark pixels in all directions, assumes those are tangent, and emits a normal. Basically making a curved surface for if lines are silhouette edges. It can work in real-time, interactively. I just never got around to rewriting it. And now... would it matter? Every conversation would go 'no, it's not AI, because AI looks better.'

The upside is, this fight is already lost. Any fool can use these programs. Many fools have. Even Photoshop has AI tools, now. That's the fastest Adobe has moved in twenty years. Plucking out tufts of fur with a single stroke will be like buying a bucket of striped paint. There's gonna be pen tools that clean up sketchy lines like the program is psychic. This wizardry will be part of everyone's standard tool set.

So doing things the hard way will be like drawing porn in MS Paint. Which is great. There is no stigma against artists doing that. Nobody cares enough to hassle them, as if they did it in a modern program and faked the look. But in the meantime, yeah, some people are going to be inconsiderate cocks.

I don't even want to know how advanced modern art/creation programs are now-a-days. I'm still using paint tool sai and PS CS6 on a tablet that's no longer sold to do my art. So I guess I'm already one of those guys who's doing things the hard way lol.

I know better and getting AI to generate what you want let alone the same style all the time is VERY hard if not impossible. Last not forget alot of image genrators lockout mature stuff

Trolling is an art, and their probably just trying to get artists pissed off and your not the only one or are an Anti AI art activist so their trying to rile people up against it.

Either way, ignore them and just move on with your life.

I'd take it as a compliment.

That is actually frustrating! I'd feel insulted because they are insinuating that you didn't put in any work into your piece, even though you clearly put large amounts of effort into your art.

I dunno... It's kinda 50/50. Your coloring and shading style might look somewhat similar to some AI generated works, but if anything they look more like you than you look like them. You've sorta defined your style, and were here before. The AI out there might have learned some of what it knows from previewing your works. You never know.

hey so you're making AI art now huh? Oh wait, you forgot the inexplicable appendage growing out of a random but sequestered area. you fail : (

It means your technical skills are like an AI. The main thing you want to do is work on the posing and other artistic elements.
DEVO87

My skills are like an AI? And here I thought it was artists that set the precedent for what AI looks like. I guess I better get to work being more artistic and working on posing so people won't accuse me of ripping off the AI style.
Wiouds

"AI" are taught technical skill from from top tier artist. How often do you AI generated work use the same pose ad the like. They do not have the artist vision.

Be insulted, AI Generators steal from other people.
LustPuppet

as someone that has played with the stuff and is trying to understand it your shading definitely has a more human touch, don't sweat it too hard... other than obvious stuff generated by amateurs with no art background only AI can detect AI, that's just the unfortunate way of things
