popular abusive content on the surface

I will start this with a story of a pretty average day for me browsing YouTube. I remember I saw a few days earlier I had been suggested a video warning about this exact type of abusive pet youtubers but I didn't feel like watching it because it's just a sad topic. Well a few days later I found a video from a pet youtube channel that I stupidly watched because it looked cute that didn't look too bad on first glance but of course it was suspicious because it was one of those videos of cats and ducklings playing together but I just didn't want to think about how this was problematic at first. Yes, there have been a few times when a cat happened to adopt ducklings because she gave birth at just the right time when she found the ducklings. But most of the time videos like this are just someone shoving animals together in an irresponsible way.

When I browsed the channel more most of the videos didn't look -too- bad but then there was one of those videos where someone is treating live fish and animals like toys and aggressively dumping them into a tiny container of water, maybe dumping in some decorations and stuff, everything just catered to be the most aesthetic. I only saw one video like this on the channel probably because if there were any others that were that OBVIOUSLY bad because either they were reported and deleted or this person making the videos was discouraged by the comments on that video saying it was abusive so they just kept making videos that weren't so obviously abusive because those were more popular and not getting called out.

And probably a lot of people have heard about the problems with family channels on youtube...

And if you want to know about some really abusive art pieces, you have the pieces by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu. Well known as the creators of that "sad robot arm," who also made art pieces embedding live animals within a wall or impaling them on hooks to make a show of them suffering and dying. But then, according to some people, those were "just" snakes, frogs, fish and stuff...

It is no longer art when it causes suffering.
