To Inkbunny: Could you ease up on AI art?

I understand the need for rules and guidelines when it comes to certain types of art. However, I would like to request a favor from you. It would be greatly appreciated if you could consider easing up on the requirement of providing prompts and details for all the submissions of AI-generated art.

This request stems from the fact that it can become quite tedious, especially for artists who submit works that consist of multiple images. Having to provide prompts and details for each individual image becomes a time-consuming chore.

I would like to draw your attention to a platform like Deviantart, which does not ask for prompts and such, yet it continues to thrive. Perhaps you could take inspiration from their approach and consider implementing a similar system. This would not only alleviate the burden on artists but also streamline the submission process, making it more efficient for everyone involved. Thank you for considering my request.

It's not that bad. I use Automatic1111 and it displays the generation details below the image. I just copy and paste it into a text file and have two sections for each image. one for the original generation and one for the upscaled.

Yeah, but I use HappyAccidents and you have to be careful when selecting the details because it works like swiping through pages on a mobile app.

So we have complaints like this this, and we have to balance it against this and the comments, and try to find a middle ground. Understand that there are many people who would like nothing more than for AI to be gone for good from Inkbunny, like it is from FA. DA is not a community we particularly wish to emulate.

We do not have infinite resources. We want you to be selective about what you [take the time to] post - both because that's part of what makes it art, rather than a copy-and-paste exercise, and because it makes it somewhat more manageable for servers and staff. Stuff like this is why we ask for "no more than six pieces of work for work generated via the same prompt". It's mildly amusing to see a sword sticking out of a knee, and fake signatures in every other corner, but it's hard to say it constitutes "your best work".

Where you are actually making artistic modifications such as inpainting, there is an out: "We don't require every subsequent hand-drawn input, but a viewer should understand how the end result was obtained through use of the tools."

Was Auto-Tune any different when it first came out? Initially, there was widespread opposition towards it, with numerous individuals vehemently criticizing it as a form of musical deception. However, as the years rolled by and society gradually embraced this innovation, the foundation of opposition crumbled, and it seamlessly integrated into the fabric of our lives.

This pattern of societal acceptance can be observed in various other domains, such as violent video games, digital music formats like mp3, TV dinners, television, and even vinyl records, all of which faced disapproval initially. Yet, with the passage of time, these once-controversial entities underwent a transformation, ultimately becoming widely accepted and integrated into our daily routines. In a similar vein, as time progresses, AI-generated art will follow suit and become an indistinguishable part of our cultural landscape.

As we reflect on history, it becomes evident that resistance to novel concepts is often a natural response. A pattern that repeats itself. However, as society evolves and adapts, these initial reservations tend to dissipate. The same trajectory can be anticipated for AI art, as it gradually gains recognition and appreciation. With time, the skepticism surrounding AI-generated art will fade away, and it will be acknowledged as a legitimate and valuable form of artistic expression, just like the various innovations that preceded it. It is inevitable.

If I can comment as someone who uses AI too (I know I'm late to the party), I think the requirements are a good middle ground.

If you use A1111 or any derivative of it, there is an option to grab the prompt form PNGinfo. The majority of the time I just drop it into the description. If it is a series where I'm doing several different scenes but a central theme or if I'm aging a character from baby to adult with baby belly, I add prompt info to a text file and submit it as #7.

I honestly believe the majority of problems we are having is a minority-but vocal crowd that will never accept AI and go out of their way to bully. Then the opposite minority crowd wants AI with unlimited restrictions. In the middle are those of us that can't physically make art or some other reason that prevents it.

As someone who used to paint, I remember when computer aided painting and other assistive technologies where being bashed as not art. I think we are in that phase right now. The only difference is we have instances like DA that do completely stupid business decisions, and put all AI prompters in a bad name. I see AI as a tool, but we still need to provide some input to get an output that resembles something creative.

Another argument I have seen is that we are taking money from artists commissions. And in all honestly that may be the case, basic capitalism argument and skilled labor, Ab immemorabili. But I have also commissioned one artist myself with two characters that originates from AI, and am looking forward to a second with another artist. If I never explored with AI, then these two would have never had my commissions, and my account would still be a lurker.

For what it is worth, I think you have hit that middle ground. The problem is that there are two sides that want to bash the others head in and us "middle ground" people are getting hit in the cross fire. I'm not aware of prompters being banned if they mess up the ACP. A prompt is hidden until corrected for if it is seen as an honest/noob mistake, and harsher actions are taken if it is a more purposeful ACP violation. I hope we reach a point where the middle "normal" people can accept creation in a new form, and add it to their work flow not see it as a replacement.

Fair points. I use ComfyUI and just find providing prompts to be a pain, especially when I add or remove keywords to the prompt. ComfyUI doesn't have a copy prompt feature.

I added comfyUI to my A1111 setup, and I think I know what you want to do. The menu where you queue prompt has a save option. When you save the file, it is as a json file. That is what you want to upload to proof your prompt. Looking at the ACP it is the same thing as copying and pasting the PNG info for us who use test prompting.

Is there an auto save for each generation?
